Hackathon "Cisco NetAcad Hackathon" 2020, Almaty, Kazakhstan
On February 28-29, the CISCO NetAcad Hackathon, organized by Cisco in Kazakhstan, was held at the Suleiman Demirel University. The award in the nomination “The Most Creative IT Project” was received by a team of students from leading universities in Bishkek, which included a 2nd year student of the Logistics department, Nikita Grafkin.
The hackathon format allowed the guys in a short time to find a creative solution to urgent problems in IT and quickly learn new material. The organizers and participants of the Cisco solutions hackathon, Cisco NetAcad Hackathon, were convinced of this. The hackathon consisted of two tracks: IoT Track and Software Track. As part of the Software track, the teams were faced with the task of writing a chat bot for the Cisco WebEx platform, a cloud service for holding corporate video conferences.
Students from KSTU named after I. Razzakova, who spoke under the name Green Light, developed an EQ-bot project that can determine the mental state of an employee and send notifications to the HR service.
According to the World Health Organization, more than 350 thousand people in the world suffer from depression and other types of mental disorders. Depression is one of the main reasons for non-attendance and disability. The essence of the Green Light team’s idea in a smart chatbot integrated into the Cisco WebEx camera. The solution allows you to read human emotions during a video call and analyze the emotional state by facial expression and facial expressions.
“50% of people with depression do not seek help, and a larger percentage do not even know that they have such a diagnosis. Implementation of the EQ-bot idea will help to identify a person’s mental problems in time so that he can seek qualified help, ”said team representatives during the presentation of their idea.
The sponsor of the trip of the Kyrgyz team, which included students from leading universities of the country, was the Green Light Training Center. This is an educational center located in Bishkek, which along with courses of its own development offers courses in routing and switching, design, courses for telecom operators, special trainings in the field of voice technologies, IT security, wireless and optical technologies, as well as storage systems data.
