The Department of «Electrical Power Industry» is the base department in the system of higher education of the Kyrgyz Republic. It is a center for scientific and methodological developments, advanced training of teachers from other universities, and training of highly qualified scientific personnel.
Department of «Electric Power Engineering» prepares:
- Bachelor in the direction
- 640200 "Electric power industry and electrical engineering" by profiles:
- "Electric stations",
- "Electric power systems and networks",
- "Relay protection and automation of electric power systems";
- Masters in the direction
- 640200 "Electric power industry and electrical engineering" according to the programs:
- "Electric stations",
- "Electric power systems and networks",
- "Relay protection and automation of electric power systems";
- postgraduate and doctoral students in the specialties:
- 05.14.02 "Power plants and electric power systems".
The department has the opportunity to organize the training and retraining of specialists in the field of the electric power industry, as well as managers for energy.
The beginning of the intensive development of the richest hydropower resources, the implementation of a broad program for the construction of power plants and long high-voltage power lines, an increase in the level of electrification of all sectors of the economy of the republic in the 50s of the last century determined the urgent need for the training of electric power engineers.
