The Department of Electrical Power Engineering prepares master's degree students for the energy industry on the basis of a bachelor's degree. The first master's degree was awarded in 2003, and by 2013 the department had trained more than 90 master's degree holders.
Graduates of the department today work at thermal and hydraulic power plants, power grid companies, distribution companies and power supply systems, design and research institutes, universities, plants and factories.
The department has trained more than 70 electrical engineers and two candidates of technical sciences for the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America. Among the graduates are two doctors of technical sciences and more than 30 candidates of sciences, more than 50 Honoured Workers of the Kyrgyz Republic. Many of them have worked and are working in responsible government positions, became deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.
