The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology is an important educational unit that actively promotes the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of chemical sciences and technology. It offers educational programs for students studying in the fields of chemical technology, as well as technological, construction and mining and geological specialties, both full-time and part-time. The department trains specialists who can effectively apply their knowledge in such industries as the chemical and food industries, ecology, energy, biotechnology and construction.

Students studying in the fields of technology, construction, energy and mining and geology receive in-depth theoretical and practical training in various fields of chemistry, which allows them to effectively solve professional problems in their fields. The curriculum includes both basic and specialized disciplines, such as inorganic and organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physicochemical methods of analysis, physical and colloid chemistry, as well as the physics and chemistry of polymers. These disciplines serve as a basis for further mastering more in-depth and specialized subjects directly related to technological processes and the application of chemistry in various industries, such as material production, ecology, resource recycling and waste management. Students also master methods of chemical analysis and diagnostics, which allows them to conduct research and develop new technological solutions that meet modern requirements and challenges of industry.

The educational process at the department is focused on developing students' deep knowledge not only of classical chemistry, but also on familiarizing them with the latest achievements in chemical science and technology. In particular, special attention is paid to modern research and analytical methods, such as spectroscopy, chromatography, X-ray structural analysis, as well as the latest approaches to studying materials and processes. This helps students gain a comprehensive understanding of chemical science and its application in real industrial practice. An important part of the educational process is the use of modern laboratory facilities and analytical instruments, which contributes to in-depth mastery of technologies used in various sectors of the economy.

The department is also actively involved in training specialists in the profile of "Research Chemist", providing students with in-depth knowledge and skills necessary for scientific work and professional activity in the field of chemistry. Since its foundation, the department has graduated several classes of specialists in the profile of "Research Chemist" (classes of 2007 and 2009), who successfully work in various scientific and industrial organizations, such as Kumtor Gold Company OJSC, Independent Grain Inspection, the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, as well as in leading analytical centers of Russia and Uzbekistan. Graduates of the department, thanks to

acquired knowledge and practical skills, they are engaged in the development of new technologies, conduct scientific research and participate in large industrial projects.

One of the bright examples of successful careers of graduates is Lasanhu Kerim, who continued his scientific activity, defending his PhD thesis in chemistry. His success became an example for other students of the department, inspiring them to further develop in the scientific field. The department is proud of the achievements of its graduates, who not only become sought-after specialists in the labor market, but also make a significant contribution to the development of chemical science and technology both in Kyrgyzstan and abroad.

In 2023, the department again began recruiting students for the program in the direction 720100 "Chemical Technologies" with the profile "Research Chemist". This program is unique because it combines fundamental knowledge in the field of chemistry with modern methods of research and analysis. Graduates of this program receive the qualification of highly qualified research chemists who can effectively work in such strategically important industries as the mining and industrial complex, energy, metallurgy, food and processing industry, as well as in the field of environmental protection. These specialists are in demand in industry and can make a significant contribution to the development of innovative technologies, improvement of production processes and sustainable development.

The department is equipped with modern equipment and devices that meet all the necessary requirements for training high-level specialists. The department's laboratories provide students with all the necessary conditions for performing laboratory work and scientific research.

Since 1997, the department has been actively organizing and holding International, Republican and City Chemistry Olympiads for schoolchildren, which not only promotes chemistry among schoolchildren, but also helps identify and support talented young people focused on further education in the field of chemical sciences. These Olympiads serve as an important platform for developing the country's scientific potential and finding promising students. The department's teachers are actively involved in developing tasks for these competitions, and are also members of the jury, assessing the level of knowledge and skills of the participants, which helps motivate schoolchildren to study chemistry in depth and carry out scientific activities.

The staff of the department includes highly qualified specialists, among whom are 11 teachers, including 2 doctors of chemical sciences, professors, and 4 candidates of sciences, associate professors. The teachers of the department are actively engaged in scientific activities, have many publications in scientific journals and are members of various scientific and dissertation councils. Many of them have been awarded prestigious state awards, such as "Honored Workers of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic" and "Excellent Workers of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic". Batkibekova M.B. is an Academician of the International Engineering Academy, and Toktosunova B.B. received the Gold Medal of the World Intellectual Property Organization for her significant contribution to the development of science and education.

In 2022, the department graduated two new candidates of chemical sciences, Syrymbekova E.I. and Kudaibergenova D.S., who successfully defended their dissertations on nanotechnology. This success underlines the high level scientific work carried out at the department, as well as its significant contribution to the development of chemical science and technology in Kyrgyzstan. The work of these graduates in the field of nanotechnology opens up new prospects for the implementation of innovative solutions in various fields of industry and science, which indicates the importance and relevance of the research conducted at the department.

Thus, the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies is an important center of education and science, which trains highly qualified specialists who can effectively solve the problems facing the chemical and technological industry, as well as contribute to the development of scientific research and innovation.
