Educational work


The organization of extracurricular work with students at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology is carried out in accordance with the approved plan of educational work. This plan covers the most important aspects of educational activities, such as the organization and control of the educational process, class attendance, the development of students' scientific thinking in the course of studying chemical disciplines, assistance in the adaptation of first-year students to university life, the involvement of students in scientific work, as well as the formation and development of universal values, such as humanism, democracy, patriotism and careful attitude to the cultural heritage of the Republic, including language, traditions and moral values. Particular attention is paid to the promotion of internationalism and the development of respect for cultural diversity.

The department has groups of first- and second-year students studying chemical disciplines. Educational work is carried out not only within the educational process, but also during curatorial hours, which are organized by teachers and curators in accordance with the department's educational work plan. These classes include both individual consultations and collective events that promote interaction between students and teachers.Particular attention is paid to the explanation of the system of credit technology of education, features of the modular system, as well as the organization of independent work of students. As part of the educational process, students are taught effective time planning, preparation for laboratory and practical classes, work with methodological materials and scientific literature.

From the very beginning of the academic year, students are actively involved in social events organized by the Institute and the University. Among such events are Open Days, the celebration of the University Day, and participation in organizing the Chemist's Day holiday. Both teachers of the department and first- and second-year students take part in this event. As part of the holiday, demonstration experiments, interesting quizzes, scientific and cultural programs such as "Ion Dances" and creative performances by students are held. For example, on April 21, 2024, a meeting of teachers and students of the department with students of the Chuisky District was held, at which such experiments as "Volcano", "Pharaoh's Snakes", "Fireproof Scarf", "Inflicting a Wound" and others were presented, which aroused great interest among schoolchildren.Labor education of students also occupies an important place in educational work. Students actively participate in clean-up days organized at the department, institute and the University. In addition, they help in the design of department and laboratory stands, participate in the improvement of classrooms and territory.The department staff actively participates in organizational, cultural and sports events held by the faculty and the University. Among such events are the New Year's Eve, the festivals "Sarmerden" and "Nooruz", as well as various career guidance events, including the organization and holding of the Open Day. As part of these events, the department actively demonstrates interesting scientific experiments that contribute to the popularization of science among schoolchildren and applicants.

In addition, the department provides financial support to socialvulnerable groups of the population, including assistance to children from orphanages, elderly people and veterans. An important part of educational work is also the formation of an active civic position and responsibility for their country and society in students.
