The department "Heat power engineering" is one of the leading ones in KSTU. Since its inception, the department has been graduating and has been training heating engineers in the specialty "Thermal Power Plants", and also gives a course of lectures in the disciplines "Heat Engineering", "Thermal Physics" of all areas of the university. The department is the only one in the republic that trains specialists in this field.
Since its inception, the department has been the only one in the Kyrgyz Republic that trains heating engineers in the specialties "Thermal Power Plants".
In 2012, all the necessary documentation was prepared for obtaining a license to train bachelors and masters in the following areas:
• 640100 "Heat power engineering and heat engineering":
profiles:
- "Thermal power plants";
- "Energy supply of enterprises".
• 640200 "Power industry and electrical engineering":
profile:
- "Energy saving in the energy sector".
The training of specialists in the direction of "Heat power engineering and heat engineering" is a national task, since the acquisition of energy independence is possible only with the rational use of the rich fuel and energy resources available in Kyrgyzstan.
The department conducts classes in the discipline: "Heat Engineering" - for students of the Faculty of Technology and the Faculty of Transport and Mechanical Engineering, "Heat and Power Plants" - for students of the Faculty of Energy. These classes include lectures, practical and laboratory work, diploma design. Since its inception, the department has been graduating and has been training heating engineers in the specialties “Thermal power plants.
A specialist who graduated from a higher educational institution in the direction of "Heat power engineering" can work at any industrial enterprise, in a boiler house, at a thermal power plant, thermal power plant, in scientific design and design organizations.
