About the Project

KSTU named after I. Razzakov joined the international Erasmus+ KA2 consortium project "Modernization of Higher Education in Central Asia through New Technologies" (HiedTec) in 2018. The project brought together 19 universities from 10 countries with the aim of introducing innovative educational technologies and driving the digital transformation of higher education across Central Asia.

 

Participants

The consortium included 19 universities from 10 countries: Bulgaria, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Luxembourg, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.

From Kyrgyzstan, the following participated:

  • Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov
  • Issyk-Kul State University named after K. Tynystanov
  • Ala-Too International University
  • Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic

Project coordinator — Ruse University named after Angel Kanchev (Ruse, Bulgaria).

Main Goals

  • Adapting the education system in partner countries to the digital generation through the introduction of innovative educational technologies and ICT-based didactic models
  • Strengthening ties between EU universities and partner countries, sharing experience in the field of digital pedagogy

Specific Objectives

  • Establishing a sustainable academic network for sharing experience in innovative educational technologies
  • Developing concepts for adapting education to the digital generation, tailored to the conditions of each partner country
  • Opening centers of innovative technologies, active learning classrooms, and virtual classrooms in all partner universities
  • Conducting training courses for faculty on digital skills and innovative teaching methods
  • Developing open educational resources and a cloud-based virtual library
  • Raising public awareness of the need for digital transformation in education

Results

  • A sustainable academic network was established for sharing experience in innovative educational technologies
  • Concepts for adapting education to the digital generation were developed for each partner country
  • Centers of innovative educational technologies, active learning classrooms, and virtual classrooms were opened at each partner university
  • A handbook on innovative educational technologies was developed and published
  • Training courses on digital skills and teaching methods were conducted for trainers and faculty
  • E-learning courses and interactive whiteboard presentations were created
  • A cloud-based virtual library of digital educational resources was established
