What is telematics? Telematics is software and hardware systems for remote monitoring and manipulation of information and material objects by transmitting requests and commands to the object management system.

The Department of Telematics is the graduating department for the field of Telematics.
The department holds the following:
- License for training bachelors in Telematics (License No. 549, Annex to License No. 72, registration number I-611)
 - License for training masters in Telematics (License No. LD 145000038, Annex to License No. 8, registration number 14/0518)
 - License for training bachelors with distance learning in Telematics (License No. LD 140000320, Annex to License No. 7, registration number 14/0440)
 - License for training bachelors in Health Informatics and Biomedical Engineering (License No. LD 170001211, Annex to License No. 1, registration number 17/0339)
 - Experimental curriculum approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic
 
In 2012, the licenses were renewed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the code for the Telematics program was assigned – 690600, and this program was introduced into the official classifier.
According to the license, the maximum enrollment capacity is 200 for bachelors and 20 for masters.
The main goal of the department is to meet the intellectual, cultural, and moral development needs of individuals through higher, postgraduate, and additional education.
The primary tasks of the department are:
- Improving the teaching and methodological work of the faculty, enhancing teaching technologies to develop students’ creative potential and abilities
 - Advancing applied sciences through joint creative work of faculty, research and teaching staff, and students, and using the results in the educational process
 - Training, retraining, and professional development of specialists with higher education
 - Conducting educational and extracurricular work among students
 
History of the Department
The Department of Telematics was established in 2011 (Order No. 173 dated September 6, 2011).
The Department of Telematics specializes in the field of Telematics, offering a bachelor's program in Telematics Engineering and Technology (using a credit-based system). Since the 2014 academic year, it has been training bachelors with the use of distance learning technologies (DLT). From the 2015 academic year, the department has been offering a master's program in Telematics, and since 2016, within the framework of a consortium between N.P. Ogarev Mordovia State University (MSU) and KSTU, a contract was signed to implement a networked educational program in the fields of Electronics and Nanoelectronics (MSU) and Telematics (KSTU).
