Management

The Department of Management was established in 1998 as part of the Faculty of Business and Management of I. Razzakov KTU.

The Department of Management is a graduate department of the IEF in terms of organizational structure and status.

The department provides an effective solution to educational, teaching and methodological, organizational, educational, and research tasks and training of specialists in the field of theory and practice of management.

The department employs: 15 teachers, 2 Doctor of Economics, 8 Candidates of Economic Sciences, 11 associate professors, 3 professors, 9 senior teachers.

The purpose of the educational activities of the Department is to train qualified specialists in the field of business and management.

Objectives of the Department of “Management”:

  1. Training competent and competitive specialists with modern knowledge in the field of economics, management and innovative technologies.
  2. Formation of students' strategic thinking, leadership qualities and the ability to make effective management decisions in the conditions of digital transformation of the economy.
  3. Ensuring a high level of the educational process based on modern teaching methods, digital tools and a practice-oriented approach.
  4. Creating an educational environment that promotes the personal and professional growth of students, the development of their creative potential and responsibility.
  5. Development of international cooperation and academic mobility of students and teachers, participation in joint scientific and educational projects.

The combination of fundamental knowledge in the field of economics and management of high-tech production makes graduates of the areas 580200 “Management”, 580700 “Business Administration” unique specialists of a qualitatively new level, always in demand in the labor market.

Our students acquire knowledge in some general technical and technological disciplines, which distinguishes them from students who receive only economic training. Students are trained in the full range of necessary economic, managerial and humanitarian disciplines that form the qualification of “Bachelor”.

History of the Department

The Department of Management was established in 1998 on the basis of the Faculty of Business and Management of the Kyrgyz Technical University named after I. Razzakov. Until 2016, it was part of the Institute of Management and Business, and from 2016 to 2022, it was part of the Engineering and Economics Faculty of KTU named after I. Razzakov. In 2022, in accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 1605/1 dated August 19, 2022, “On the reorganization of the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov,” the department was merged with the Department of Management of KSUCA named after N. Isanov. According to the organizational structure and status, the merged department is a graduating department of the Higher School of Economics and Business (HSEB) of KTU named after I. Razzakov.

History of the Department of Management at KSUCA named after N. Isanov (before the 2022 merger)

The Department of Management at KSUCA named after N. Isanov (before the merger in 2022) has its own history. It was established on February 9, 1993, on the basis of the departments “Technology and Organization of Construction” and “Economics and Management in Construction” as a specialized department “Entrepreneurial Activity and Construction Organization.” On December 15, 1994, it was renamed the Department of Management in Construction (MC). On February 7, 2005, the Department of Management in Construction was merged with the Department of Construction Technology into the Department of Technology and Management. However, on June 6, 2005, the departments were again separated, and the Departments of Management and Technology and Construction Organization were re-established.

  • 2000 - 2011: Head of the Department – Ph.D. in Pedagogical Sciences, Professor E.T. Imankulova.
  • 2012 - 2014: Head of the Department – Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor M.O. Omurbekova.
  • 2015 - 2016: Head of the Department – Ph.D. in Economics, Professor K.O. Orozbaev.
  • From 2016 to the present: Head of the Department – Ph.D. in Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Honored Worker of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic E.T. Imankulova.

  • 1993 - 1997: Head of the Department – Ph.D. in Economics, Professor I.A. Atantaev.
  • 1997 - 1998: Head of the Department – Honored Professor Sh.F. Niyazov.
  • 1998 - 2005: Head of the Department – Doctor of Economics, Professor, Honored Economist of the Kyrgyz Republic Zh.M. Batyrkanov.
  • 2005 - 2022: Head of the Department – Doctor of Economics, Professor E.D. Derbisheva.

 

Main Objectives of the Department

The department ensures the effective implementation of a wide range of tasks in the training and professional development of specialists in management theory and practice, administration, marketing, and financial organization. These tasks include educational, methodological, organizational, developmental, informational, and research activities.

 

Academic Staff

At present, the department employs 15 teaching staff members. The team includes:

  • 2 Doctors of Science,
  • 3 Professors,
  • 7 Candidates of Science,
  • 11 Associate Professors,
  • 9 Senior Lecturers.

The academic qualification rate of the department is 52.8%. Professors, associate professors, and candidates of science actively participate in the training of specialists, and executives and entrepreneurs from leading companies and corporations in Kyrgyzstan are also involved in the educational process.

 

Activities and Prospects

Faculty members of the department conduct classes in licensed full-time and distance learning programs at the institutes of KTU. They actively implement modern educational technologies and innovative teaching methods aimed at improving the quality of student training. The department expands scientific cooperation with national and international universities and participates in international projects and academic mobility programs. The main directions of the department’s development are improving the quality of educational services, continuous professional development of the teaching staff, and expanding international cooperation. The Head of the Department, Professor E.T. Imankulova, is the author of about 100 scientific works and actively participates in scientific conferences, seminars, and international projects.
