Machines and Devices for Food Production

“Food Production Machinery and Equipment” is one of the oldest departments at Kyrgyz State Technical University. The history of the department dates back to 1962. It became a separate department in 1965. The department trained mechanical engineers in three specialties.

— meat processing plant equipment;

- equipment for chemical and metallurgical plants;

- equipment for dairy plants. The newly created department was headed by Associate Professor V.G. Abdyushev. During the creation of the department, a lot of effort was put into equipping the laboratories with samples of working equipment for the relevant industries, purchasing educational literature, and providing methodological support for the educational process.                                   Since 1968, Associate Professor F.E. Dychenko has served as head of the department, making a significant contribution to the training of highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel, which were clearly lacking at that time. Young teachers from the department were sent to targeted postgraduate programs at leading universities in the USSR in Moscow, Leningrad, Krasnodar. Young teachers from the department, including Omurzakov D.O., Sadyrov O.A., Soburov K.A., and others, were sent to these universities. Highly qualified teachers from the country's central universities were invited to give lectures. The first class of mechanical engineers graduated in 1967.  The total number of graduates was seven, who subsequently became leading specialists in the food industry: Bondareva O., Varenikov V., Plakhtienko L.Z., Matyakh L.I., and many others. From 1970 to 1978, the department additionally trained and graduated engineers-technologists for the chemical-metallurgical complex and sugar industry. For a number of years, the MAPP department trained specialists not only for Kyrgyzstan, but also for the entire Central Asian region through a cooperative recruitment program. Until 1992, 35 students were trained annually at the department under this system. The following individuals contributed to the establishment and development of the department, heading it at various stages: Vasily Georgievich Abdushev, Fedor Epifanovich Dychenko, Janbay Omurzakovich Omurzakov, Uzbek Shabdanbekovich Shabdanbekov, Kumushbek Algazievich Soburov, Svetlana Vladimirovna Kochneva, and Bakyt Karaevich Dzhusunov.

In addition to them, Alla Mikhailovna Abramovich, Mamatkul Saparbayevich Saparbaev, Oktyabrin Alymbekovich Sadyrov, Anatoly Sergeevich Moiseenko, Lyubov Zakharovna Plakhtienko, and Anipa Abylbekovna Usupkozhoeva made significant contributions. In 2012, for the first time in the Kyrgyz Republic, specialists in the field of “Refrigeration, Cryogenic Engineering, and Air Conditioning” were trained, which is so necessary for the entire region of Central Asia. During its existence, the department has trained over 2,000 mechanical engineers for the food industry.

Currently, the department is headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Sadieva Anarkul Esenkulovna. The department is staffed by highly qualified professors and teachers, including production specialists with extensive practical experience in food enterprises. The core of the staff consists of professors and associate professors: 1 Doctor of Technical Sciences, 4 Candidates of Technical Sciences, including 2 professors, 4 associate professors, 4 distinguished educators of the Kyrgyz Republic, 3 senior lecturers, and 1 lecturer. The faculty actively collaborates with foreign partners from Germany, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and China in conducting research work. Over the years, the department has built up a good laboratory base. Laboratory and practical classes are held in specialized laboratories equipped with the necessary instruments, tools, and equipment, which are updated annually. Today, it consists of 6 teaching laboratories, a computer classroom, and a research laboratory. The research laboratory develops modern methods of food processing, equipment, systems for monitoring and controlling technological processes and product quality. In recent years, great progress has been made in the material and technical support of the educational process. Refrigeration equipment worth US$20,000 was purchased with sponsorship from the Ozone Center of Kyrgyzstan, along with 12 computers and copying equipment worth US$10,000 (from Alex Stewart) and two modern food industry equipment items.                                                                                                                                                                                                     The Department of Food Production Machinery and Equipment trains bachelor's degree students in the field of 650400 Technological Machinery and Equipment in the following specializations: Food Engineering, Food Engineering for Small Businesses

“Food Production Machinery and Equipment”;
