Students are trained in full-time and distance learning, and a multi-level system offers specialist, master's, and PhD degrees.
The department trains specialists in two specializations: Open-Pit Mining and Blasting, leading to the qualification of Mining Engineer.
Specialization: Open-Pit Mining. During their studies in this specialization, students become familiar with safe, environmentally friendly, resource-saving, and cost-effective open-pit mining techniques for solid mineral deposits; master the design, construction, operation, reconstruction, and refurbishment of mining facilities, including the use of information technology; master methods for geological and industrial assessment of mineral deposits and the legal framework for subsoil use; and study the processes and mechanization of open-pit mining for solid mineral deposits.
Specialization: Blasting. During their studies in this specialization, students become familiar with detonation and explosion theories, open-pit and underground mining technologies, blasting quality control methods, modern mining equipment, computer technologies for modeling and designing drilling and blasting operations, regulatory documentation governing blasting operations, and safety rules for handling explosives.
There is one master's degree program in the 630300 "Mining Engineering" program.
There is one PhD program in the 630300 "Mining Engineering" program.
Postgraduate and doctoral training
Postgraduate and doctoral programs occupy a special place in the training of scientific and teaching staff. In 2022, the department graduated one doctor of engineering sciences. Currently, the department has five graduate students, two postgraduate students, and five doctoral candidates enrolled in graduate programs. Their supervisors are: Doctor of Engineering, Associate Professor A.R. Abdiev, and Candidate of Engineering, Senior Researcher Sh.A. Abdibaitov.
