History of the center
The Scientific and Technical Center named after Professor Sh.A. Mambetov "Geokvantum" of KSTU named after I. Razzakov was established by the Decision of the Academic Council Protocol No. 8 dated April 26, 2023 and the Order of the Rector of KSTU No. 1/96 dated May 2, 2023 and is part of the university structure as an independent structural unit.
Mambetov Shergazy Asambaevich (1936-2021)
Mining engineer (1959), candidate of technical sciences (1965), doctor of technical sciences (1984), professor, academician of the Engineering Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic, honored worker of education of the Kyrgyz Republic. Worked as an associate professor, professor, head of department, dean of the mining and geological faculty, vice-rector, rector of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute (1976-2021).
Member of the Zhogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic (1990-1996), chairman of the deputy commission of the Zhogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on gold (1993), chairman of the standing commission on education, science and industry of the Zhogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic (1992-1996). Member, deputy chairman, chairman of the expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic for geological and mining sciences (1992-2019), vice-president of the Association of geologists and miners of the Kyrgyz Republic (1996-2021). Head of the scientific school - Forecasting and control of the stress-strain state of rock mass in high-mountain areas (1971-2021). Author of 17 textbooks and teaching aids under the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, 10 monographs, over 350 scientific articles on the problems of development of natural resources, including the development of mineral deposits, construction of engineering and hydraulic structures. Scientific director of 37 research papers of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Frunze Polytechnic Institute and the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, 7 candidates of technical sciences and 1 doctor of technical sciences. Professor Sh.A. Mambetov was the founder and organizer of the All-Union seminars of the USSR - "Problems of development of minerals in highlands", the founder and head of the scientific direction "Geomechanical support of mining and mining construction works in highlands". In recognition of special services to the state, he was awarded medals and honorary badges of the USSR, certificates of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the Kirghiz SSR, the Zhogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic. He was awarded gratitude from the President of the Russian Federation "For great contribution to the development of Russian-Kyrgyz cooperation in the field of education and For great contribution to the preservation and development of the Russian language and culture in the Kyrgyz Republic and the Central Asian region."
