PUBLICATION ETHICS OF THE EDITORIAL BOARD OF THE JOURNAL

“Proceedings of KSTU”

The journal Proceedings of KSTU takes full responsibility for maintaining academic integrity and safeguarding its scientific reputation. All thematic series of the journal adhere to the principles of publication ethics adopted by the Association of Scientific Editors and Publishers (Russian Federation) (Declaration of the Association of Scientific Editors and Publishers “Ethical Principles of Scientific Publications”), and also follow the principles and standards of publication ethics set out in the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Violations of copyright and ethical standards are unacceptable and constitute a serious obstacle to the development of scientific knowledge, undermining the credibility of science. Editorial decisions are made impartially and solely on the basis of the scholarly merit, originality, and quality of the submitted materials, regardless of the authors’ race, gender, nationality, citizenship, religious beliefs, ideological views, or political positions.

The Editorial Board organizes a blind peer review process and undertakes to ensure the absence of any conflict of interest between all parties involved. Authors or co-authors of the manuscript under review, as well as the academic supervisors of authors who are candidates for an academic degree, may not act as reviewers.

The Editorial Board strongly opposes violations of publication ethics in scientific research, the most common of which include plagiarism, submission of previously published material, unlawful appropriation of the results of others’ research, and data fabrication or falsification. In all such cases, the processing of the manuscript for publication is suspended.

The Editorial Board undertakes not to use any data obtained from submitted manuscripts or to disclose such data to third parties (with the exception of reviewers) prior to publication. All substantive editorial changes made to the text are agreed with the author. In the event of disagreement with the proposed revisions, either party has the right to withdraw the manuscript from publication.

Ethical Standards for Authors

All co-authors must be informed of the submission of the manuscript to the journal. Each author is therefore required to approve the manuscript and give consent to its publication. The order in which authors are listed is determined by the author group prior to submission.

The manuscript must present the results of original scientific research. Any borrowed text, data, or statements must be properly cited in accordance with accepted referencing standards, with full acknowledgement of the original author and source. Excessive self-citation or unjustified citation of one’s academic supervisor, employer, or colleagues is considered unethical.

The manuscript must be unpublished and submitted to the journal for the first time. Authorship is limited to those researchers who have made a significant intellectual contribution to the preparation of the manuscript, including the development of its concept, data collection, analysis, interpretation, and writing of the article.

The names of individuals who contributed to the preparation of the manuscript but whose contribution does not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged in the “Acknowledgements” section, with a clear indication of the nature of their contribution.
