The Department of Public Catering Products Technology is a core department in the higher education system of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The department offers Bachelor’s degree programs in full-time and part-time (with distance learning technologies) modes of study.

Since 2017, the department has also offered Master’s degree programs (full-time and part-time) in the field 740300 – Technology of Food Products and Organization of Public Catering.

Duration: 2 years and 2.5 years
The educational programs are supported by approved curricula. The department is responsible for approximately 40 disciplines at the Bachelor’s level and 16 disciplines at the Master’s level. All disciplines are provided with educational and methodological complexes, which are regularly updated. The department has developed textbooks and methodological guidelines for laboratory and practical classes in Russian and Kyrgyz. Methodological guidelines are also available for all types of internships, term papers, final qualification works, and Master’s theses.
History of the Department
The Department of Public Catering Products Technology was established in 1982. The first graduation of certified specialists took place in 1983. In 1996, the Departments of Public Catering Products Technology and Meat and Dairy Products Technology were merged to form a new department — Technology of Food Production.
At different times, the department was headed by Associate Professor A.S. Moiseenko, Associate Professor L.K. Gerasimova, Associate Professor R.M. Mamatkerimov, Professor B.S. Tamabaeva, and Associate Professor L.I. Karpunina.
In 2009, according to Rector’s Order No. 1/69 dated April 16, 2009, the section “Public Catering Products Technology” was re-established and in 2010 it was reorganized into an independent department.
Since 2012, the department has been training Bachelor’s students under the credit system in the field 740300 – Technology of Food Products and Organization of Public Catering, with the following profiles:
- Technology of Food Production and Organization of Public Catering
- Technology of Food Products and Organization of Service in Restaurants and Hotel Complexes
- Organization of Tourist Catering and Service
Since 2017, the department has also been offering Master’s programs in “Technology of Functional Food Products” and “Nutrition in the Food Industry.”
