March 12, 2025 – The International University of the Kyrgyz Republic continues the international scientific and practical conference within the framework of the seminar “Experience of implementing the financial autonomy model in universities in Kyrgyzstan: challenges and prospects”. The event is organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ DEFA project (“Development of financial autonomy of universities in Kyrgyzstan”), funded by the European Union.
Today's program includes training courses, practical seminars and cultural events aimed at developing competencies in the field of financial management of higher education institutions.
Key topics of the day:
Training course: regulatory framework for financial management in universities (OVGU experience, professors Philip Pohlenz and Mirko Stackel);
Introductory session: monitoring and evaluation as a tool for autonomous management of universities, their capabilities and limitations;
Practical seminar: using indicator-based monitoring in university management.
The conference is attended by heads and representatives of Kyrgyz universities, international experts and European partners of the project.
The DEFA project is aimed at creating a sustainable and effective model of financial autonomy for Kyrgyz universities, increasing their managerial and financial independence, and introducing best international practices into the country's higher education system.
