On April 17, 2024, the grand opening of the 2nd Hackathon on the development of a system for automatic speech recognition and voice-to-text conversion in the Kyrgyz language was held at the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov.

The event was organized by the National Commission on the State Language and Language Policy under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Institute of Information Technologies of KSTU named after I. Razzakov and the ULUT Soft company.

The opening of the Hackathon was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Edil Zholdubaevich Baysalov, who emphasized the importance of the practical application of technical developments to solve real problems and encouraged participants to show creativity and an innovative approach.

Zhyldyz Kalmashevna Orozobekova, Deputy Chairman of the National Commission for the State Language under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, expressed support for the event and the importance of preserving and developing the Kyrgyz language in the digital world.

RSK Bank and the mobile operator MEGA acted as partners of the Hackathon, emphasizing the importance of innovation and technological progress, as well as their willingness to consider the possibility of integrating the best developments into their products and services.

At the end of the official part of the event, the director of ULUT Soft, Mirbek Okenov, gave recommendations and guidance to the participants on achieving success in the hackathon, sharing his experience and supporting creativity and an innovative approach to tasks.

The hackathon represents a unique opportunity for developers to show their talent, create innovative solutions and contribute to the development of the Kyrgyz language and information technology.

The hackathon involves 32 offline teams from various universities in Bishkek, as well as 7 online teams from regions, including OshTU, ZhSU, Osh State University and ISU.

On April 18, participants will have to present their prototypes to a jury and evaluate them on various criteria, including innovation, technical performance and practical applicability.
