From January 29 to February 2, 2024, Rector M.K. Chynybaev visited the PRC. as part of the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic headed by the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Kendirbayeva D.Sh.

On January 30-31, 2024, a delegation from Kyrgyzstan took part in a high-level global conference on the digitalization of education in Shanghai, which was organized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and UNESCO. Minister Kendirbaeva D.Sh. gave a plenary report at the conference on the experience of Kyrgyzstan in the digital transformation of the education system.

During the conference, best practices in the field of digitalization of education, ensuring quality and equal education were presented. The main topics of the conference were:

improving the digital skills of teachers and lecturers;

global trends in the field of digitalization of education;

artificial intelligence and digital ethics;

challenges and prospects for digital transformation of education;

digital management in the education system, etc.

The World Conference on Digital Education celebrated several achievements, including the launch of a global version of China's Smart Education online platform.

This initiative, announced by the Chinese Ministry of Education, aims to offer personalized digital education services to students around the world.

The international publication, available in six languages including Chinese, English and French, provides up-to-date information on global collaboration in digital education. The international scientific journal Frontiers of Digital Education dedicated to the digitalization of education was also launched.

On January 31, 2024, an official meeting between the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Dogdurkul Kendirbayeva and the Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China Huai Jinpeng took place. During the meeting, one of the central topics was the discussion of the progress of the implementation of the “Luban Workshops” project on the basis of KSTU.

As part of the project, it is planned to create new laboratories in the field of hydraulic engineering, hydropower, mechanical engineering, industrial automation and construction of roads and bridges with a total cost of about 100 million soms in the first year of implementation.

The project also provides for advanced training of teachers and student exchange at partner universities. The contract under the project is valid for 10 years. The opening of “Luban Workshops” is scheduled for September 17, 2024.

On February 1, 2024, in the city of Xi’an, a meeting of the delegation with the leadership of Northwestern University (NWU) took place, within the framework of which a memorandum of understanding and development of cooperation between KSTU and NWU was signed.

The rectors of the two universities agreed to develop cooperation through joint educational programs, joint scientific research and the development of academic mobility of students and teaching staff. In particular, an agreement was reached to develop a joint undergraduate educational program according to the 2+2 scheme in the field of International electronic commerce.

On February 2, 2024, the Kyrgyz delegation visited enterprises producing computer equipment and software development in the city of Shenzhen.

During the visit, the prospects for direct supplies of equipment to educational institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic were discussed, and modern software solutions for educational institutions at the school and higher education levels were also studied.

Meetings were also held with the academic and business circles of the city of Shenzhen, during which issues of establishing cooperation between the parties were discussed.
