The first Forum of rectors of Kyrgyz and Hungarian universities was held on February 13-14 in Budapest, Hungary.

The forum was held during the official visit to Hungary of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Zhaparov S.N.

On the first day of the Forum with a cultural program, a photo and book exhibition was opened at the Museum of Ethnography with the participation of the First Lady of the Kyrgyz Republic Aigul Japarova and officials of the Hungarian Government. On the same day, an introductory visit to Obuda University took place. There, the delegation members got acquainted with the robotics laboratory and the Center for Research and Innovation. The Memorandum of Understanding between KSTU and the Department of Informatics John von Neumann of Obuda University was signed in 2017 and joint projects were implemented with the departments of "Telematics" and "Geodesy and Geoinformatics". The meeting was attended by the director of the Institute of Geoinformatics Dr. Pődör Andrea and she expressed particular interest in continuing the collaboration.

During the visit to the Budapest Metropolitan University, a study tour was also organized. A round table was also held here to discuss the Kyrgyz-Hungarian cooperation in the field of education and science.

The second day of the Forum continued at the Eötvös Loránd University. The ministers of education and science of Hungary and the Kyrgyz Republic spoke. The opening of the Kyrgyz Center (corner) at the Etvosh Loran University took place.

In the plenary part of the Forum of Rectors of Kyrgyz and Hungarian universities, the rector of KSTU Chynybaev Mirlan Koychubekovich made a report "Opportunities for cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Hungary in the field of science and education."

Memorandums and agreements were signed between the universities of the Kyrgyz Republic and Hungary. Rector of KSTU Chynybaev M.K. signed travel memorandums with Kodolanyi Janos University (Hospitality, Economics, IT and AI), University of Tokaj (Wine) and Óbuda University (Power Engineering, IT, transport, robotics, light industry, construction and architecture).

Rector of KSTU Chynybaev M.K. also met with the rector of the University of Nyíregyháza Professor George Tzazo. This university of applied sciences prepares bachelors in computer science, mechanical engineering, professional pilot, agricultural engineering, arts (BA), English language and American studies. There was also a meeting with representatives of the University of Miskolc, with whom the International Higher School of Logistics (IHSL) of KSTU successfully cooperates.
