Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov took part in the opening of a demonstration solar power plant at the Kyrgyz State Technical University (KSTU) named after Ishak Razzakov.

The head of the Cabinet noted that “I am glad to witness the symbiosis of theory and practice, scientific discoveries and production.”

“A solar station installed on the roof of the university will not only generate electricity, but will also be an excellent opportunity for students to see this process with their own eyes. We are happy and always ready to support such initiatives,” said Akylbek Japarov.

In addition, the head of the Cabinet recalled that the President has repeatedly made addresses in international arenas on issues of climate change, glacier conservation, biodiversity and the development of “green” projects are priorities.

He also added that the Technical University is his “alma mater” and all the achievements of the university speak to him with great pride.

“I constantly monitor the scientific achievements of our educational institutions. For example, the income of a technical university, where 24.5 thousand students study, reached 1 billion soms. This year, it ranked among the top 350-400 out of 850 universities in Asia in the QS Asia University Rankings 2024. I hope that he will also be in the top 20, already in the world rankings,” concluded Akylbek Japarov.
