On August 10, 2023, at the Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power in Hangzhou (PRC), a 4-sided Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on the creation of the "Lu Ban Workshop" on the basis of KSTU. I. Razzakova.
From the Kyrgyz side, the event was attended by Rector Chynybaev M.K., Vice-Rector for International Relations Chymyrov A.U. and head of the department "Technology of mechanical engineering" Sartov T.E.
On the Chinese side, in addition to the specified university, there were representatives of the Zhejiang Institute of Communications and the China Education Association for International Exchange.
It should be noted that the Lu Ban Workshop project, implemented on the initiative of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping, within the framework of the One Belt, One Road ideology, is aimed at creating an advanced training center in order to train highly qualified specialists and improve the skills of personnel in the field of construction of roads and bridges, hydraulic structures, geodesy, energy, renewable energy and mechanical engineering in Kyrgyzstan. To date, such projects are being successfully implemented in 25 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe.
As practice shows, the Lu Ban Workshop project serves to strengthen political mutual trust, economic development of partner countries and improve interpersonal communication between them.
In turn, the “Lu Ban Workshop” has become a kind of national brand of vocational education in China since the time when the legendary Chinese master inventor Lu Ban, who lived in the 5th century BC, invented many hand tools in Tianjin province, which are still used today. . No wonder Lu Ban is revered in China as the patron of carpenters, artisans and builders.
The new "Workshop of Lu Ban" is being created on the basis of the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after. I. Razzakov on the initiative of the Chinese Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic with financial support from the Government of China. At the stage of preparing the project proposal, a search for partners was carried out on the basis of several video conferences with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan.
During online meetings, the first of which took place on July 3 this year, a decision was made to host this workshop on the basis of our university.
The official delegation of KSTU was on a working visit to China from August 8 to 11 this year. and held several meetings to discuss the goals and objectives of the Lu Ban Workshop, develop a detailed project proposal and agree on it with all partners.
Representatives of the university visited several campuses of partner universities, got acquainted with the activities of their "smart" classes, advanced scientific laboratories equipped with the most modern equipment, scientific and educational centers, modern libraries and social and cultural facilities.
It was then that an agreement was reached on the formation of relevant working groups at each university to determine their scientific and pedagogical potential and the required number and technical parameters of laboratory and industrial equipment for a workshop at KSTU.
The creation of modern laboratories for the construction and operation of "smart" roads and bridges, for hydraulic engineering, energy, mechanical engineering and construction engineering is expected.
The working group of KSTU included experienced and highly qualified specialists in the indicated areas of the economy, the visit of Chinese partners is expected soon to study the material and technical base and premises for the new workshop.
It is expected that its official opening will take place in 2024.
