From May 30 to June 9, trainings of the project “Development of interdisciplinary postgraduate programs and strengthening of research networks in the field of geoinformation technologies in Armenia and Kyrgyzstan” (GeoTAK), funded under the European Union Erasmus + program in 2021-2024, were held.

Within the framework of this project at the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after. I. Razzakova (KSTU) purchased equipment, trained teachers and opened three PhD programs in the areas of Geodesy and Remote Sensing, Mining and Applied Geology.

The project coordinator is the Polytechnic University of Valencia from Spain, the national coordinator is KSTU named after I. Razzakov.

Also participating in the project are the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Osh Technological University named after Academician M. Adyshev and the State Cartographic and Geodetic Service (Goskartography) under the State Agency for Land Resources under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan Gulnara Isaeva met with the participants of the GeoTAK project at the opening of the XVII conference of the conference "GIS in Central Asia", in which they took part.

The international training, which took place from May 30 to June 9, 2023, was attended by 35 representatives of project partners from four European universities, three Armenian and Kyrgyz universities.

The main topic of the training "Environmental Monitoring and Risk Management" was very interesting for all participants, as theoretical and practical classes were held, field work was carried out using geoinformation technologies, modern methods of geodesy, geospatial analysis, remote sensing data and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). ).

Theoretical and practical classes were held in lecture halls and computer laboratories of KSTU named after I. Razzakov and OshTU named after M. Adyshev.

In the first part of the training, the participants completed field work in the Alai Mountains, passed through the Too-Ashuu, Ala-Bel and Chyyyrchyk mountain passes, and took aerial photographs using UAVs.

The second part of the field work was carried out on the biospheric territory "Lake Issyk-Kul" with the study of high mountain pastures and forests.
