Rector of KSTU Chynybaev M.K. took part in a study tour on the topic “Mineral Processing and Circular Economy” at the invitation of the Department of Business and Trade of the UK Government, which took place in the cities of England from 11 to 15 March 2024.

The program was attended by heads of a number of enterprises of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as countries

Central Asia, Mongolia and Turkey.

As part of the visit, bilateral meetings and seminars were held with representatives of industrial and academic circles in Great Britain.

In particular, rector Chynybaev M.K. held negotiations with the head of the Camborne School of Mines, prof. Patrick Foster, this university trains mining engineers and conducts world-class research.

The parties agreed to establish cooperation in the field of training for the geological and mining industries.

In particular, joint training of PhD doctoral students, continuation of master's studies, modernization of educational programs, internships for teaching staff and students.

A special role is given to the topic of conducting joint research and including scientists from KSTU in international research projects. Also during the meeting, advanced laboratories and research results were demonstrated.

During the trip, working meetings were held with the English Geological Survey, Cornish Lithium Company, British Lithium & Imerys British Lithium, Materials Processing Institute, Green Lithium, Alloyed Ltd.

The companies shared information on ongoing research and production work, and also discussed possible ways of cooperation, including organizing joint seminars, joint research projects, as well as inviting KSTU graduates to undergo industrial internships and practices.
