In 1999 she graduated from the Kyrgyz Technical University. I. Razzakova (now the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov) bachelor's degree in the specialization "Technology of food preservation and food concentrates", in 2001 she graduated from the master's program in the direction of "Technology of food products".

In 2002, she entered the full-time postgraduate course of the Kyrgyz Technical University named after. I. Razzakova. In 2004, she won the scholarship of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic "Personnel of the 21st century" for postgraduate studies (PhD doctoral studies) at the Technical University of Berlin at the Institute of Technology and Chemistry of Food Products. On October 25, 2007, she successfully defended her thesis on the topic “Determining the functional and rheological properties of selected honey varieties” and received the academic degree of Doctor of Engineering (PhD). Nostrification took place in the NAC KR dated May 25, 2017.

From 2008 to 2018, she went through the stages of professional growth: art. teacher, acting Associate Professor, Associate Professor at the Department of Food Engineering, Kyrgyz Turkish Manas University. She has international research and teaching experience not only in Kyrgyzstan, but also in Germany and Switzerland. From October 1 to November 31, 2011, she underwent a scientific internship at the Technical University of Berlin, at the Department of Nutritional Rheology, with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). In 2013-14 academic year 1999-2019 she completed a scientific internship at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich at the Institute of Nutrition and Health with the support of the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS ESKAS).

In 2018, she was invited to the position of professor at the Dresden University of Technology for the temporary head of the Department of Professional Education, in the direction of "Nutrition sciences, food products and household economics". Currently working as a researcher at the Federal Research Institute of Nutrition and Foodstuffs. Max Rubner in Germany, and is also a researcher at the Department of Food Chemistry at Dresden University of Technology.

To the department "Technology of food production" Smanalieva Zh.N. was invited to the position of associate professor in 2020, currently holds the position of acting. professor (0.5 st.), reads the main lecture courses in the disciplines "Nutritiology", "Food toxicology", "Functional food ingredients". Supervises the research work of undergraduates and doctoral students.

Currently, he is the initiator and co-leader of an international project on the topic "SUFACHAIN - Promoting sustainable land management through the development of products, (technological) processes and SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) in the field of non-timber forest products and agroforestry value chains in Central Asia ”, funded by the German Ministry of Education and Science (BMBF).

The list of scientific and methodical works includes 41 works: 26 - scientific and 4 - educational and methodical. Including: 2 - monographs, 25 - scientific articles (14 articles published in indexed international journals Web of Science (WOS), 1 - in Scopus, 10 - in indexed Russian journals (RSCI)) and 15 theses.
