A week before their studies, 1st year students were familiarized with the university, the charter of KSTU, its management structure, development prospects, library, website, trade union, internal regulations, hygiene, schedule of the educational process, selected group assets, members of the editorial board, compiled databases of student groups. There were curatorial hours, conversations on the planned topics: On friendship and cohesion of the group; On the preparation and attitude of students to sports; On the preparation and participation of students in KVN and amateur performances;On preparing students for independent work after graduation/
Educational work at 3-5 courses
Educational work at the senior courses at the department is carried out by all the teaching staff, including conducting conversations on the organization and implementation of independent and individual work; about the chosen profession; about the culture of behavior and ethics; on class attendance and student performance; on a healthy lifestyle. The department controls the medical examination of students. Students of the department participate in university, interuniversity events (sports olympiads, conferences), take part in concerts dedicated to the holidays and events of the university. Unfortunately, some of the planned events (International Olympiad in Milk and Dairy Products Technology) could not be held due to quarantine. In the 2029-2020 academic year, the results of students' research work were discussed at the level of the department (28.02.2020), faculty, university. Of the 17 reports heard at the department, 8 reports were recommended for participation in the university conference "Science, Technology and Engineering Education in the Digital Age: Ideas and Solutions". Based on the results of participation in this conference, the students of the department were awarded the Diploma of the II degree, the Certificate of Honor of KSTU and TF.
