She graduated from the Faculty of Technology of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute with a recommendation of work in research institutions in 1974. From 1974 to 1975 she was a senior laboratory assistant at the Department of Technology of Meat and Dairy Products (TMDP) of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute. From 1975 to 1987 worked at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz SSR as an engineer, junior researcher, researcher in the laboratory of chemistry and technology of plant substances. In 1980 she defended her thesis for the degree of Candidate of Chemical Sciences in the specialty "Chemistry of High Molecular Compounds." From 1987 to the present, he has been teaching at the Department of TMDP-FT as a teacher, senior lecturer, associate professor, professor, head of the department. Teaching is combined with scientific research in the field of milk technology and dairy products. In 1995, she was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor at the Department of Technology of Meat and Dairy Products. In 2006 she defended her doctoral dissertation in the specialty 05.18.04 - technology of meat, dairy, fish products and refrigeration. In 2010, the academic title of professor in the specialty "Technology" was awarded.
She conducts all types of classes at the proper level, supervises the research of undergraduates, graduate students, doctoral students, applicants, was the chairman of the dissertation council at Research Institute of Chemistry and Technology, a member of the dissertation council at Almaty Technological University (Kazakhstan), corresponding member of Academy of Engineering of the Kyrgyz Republic, member of the Presidium of the Academy of Engineering of the Kyrgyz Republic. She prepared four candidates of technical sciences. She is the supervisor of four graduate students (two of them are citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan), two doctoral students and one doctoral candidate PhD (Kazakhstan).
Over 200 scientific and educational works have been published, including 10 monographs, articles in scientific publications of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, 22 inventions, 4 study guides, 2 terminological dictionaries, and laboratory workshops.
From 2012 to the present, she has been an active participant in the program "Professional Education in Central Asia", implemented by GIZ on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (Germany). During this period, with the direct participation of M. Musulmanova educational programs (undergraduate and graduate programs) in the direction of “Technology and production of food products of animal origin” were developed, implemented and passed international accreditation (ACQUIN, Germany). Currently, with the support of GIZ, educational programs are being developed in the direction “Technology and Production of Food Products from Plant Raw Materials”, as well as training doctors (PhD) in food technology.
She was awarded the bronze medal of the Exhibition of achievements of the national economy of the USSR, the badge “Excellence in Education of the Kyrgyz Republic” (1999), the Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic (2005) for her contribution and diligent work in improving pedagogical activity, the Honorary Diploma of the State Intellectual Property Agency under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (2005) for her contribution to the development of science and intellectual property of the Kyrgyz Republic, Diplomas of KSTU, Breastplate for special services to I. Razzakov KSTU (2016), inscribed hours of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic (2019).
