11/14/2025 Scientific and practical Conference "Environmental Safety in the context of sustainable development" at the I. Razzakov KSTU

On November 14, 2025, a scientific and practical conference dedicated to topical issues of environmental safety and sustainable development was held in the conference hall of the I. Razzakov KSTU. The event was attended by students, teachers, and representatives of government agencies, including the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Bishkek City Hall.

Opening the conference, Vice-rector for Scientific Work of KSTU Arzybayev Almazbek Momunovich noted the importance of holding such events in the context of global climate change and stressed the university's desire to train highly qualified and competitive specialists.

Kalybek Mukashevich Dyykanaliev, Head of the KSTU Educational Department, spoke about the latest changes in educational programs aimed at developing students' competencies in the field of technosphere safety.

Zhyrgalbek Makeshovich Omurov, Head of the Department of Technosphere Safety at KSTU, presented the scientific activities of the department, international cooperation, educational initiatives and projects aimed at training specialists in the field of environmental safety.

Kumar Abylkazymovich Mambetaliev, Head of the Bioresources Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, stressed that the department builds a bridge between educational initiatives and practical tasks of government agencies, contributing to the integration of science and practice, and presented the draft National Adaptation Plan of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2025-2030.

Burul Sabyrbekovna Zhapakova, Head of the office of "Green and Digital Solutions" at KSTU, spoke about the opportunities for students to take the initiative in solving environmental problems, participate in scientific projects and educational programs on sustainable development.

The conference featured presentations:

Bekbolotova Aigul Kerimkulovna, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Technosphere Safety at KSTU — about the current ecological state of Kyrgyzstan, achievements and problems.

Zhumaev Azim Toyunbekovich, Head of the Fuel and Energy Complex Department of the Bishkek City Hall Department, on measures to improve the environmental situation in Bishkek.

Ermek Toychubekov, Head of the Civil Protection Department of the Pervomaisky district of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic in Bishkek, Major — on the impact of climate change on the increase in the number of emergencies in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Bermet Salavatovna Kanimetova, lecturer at the Department of Design at KSTU, talks about the impact of design on solving environmental problems.

The conference became a platform for the exchange of experience, scientific and practical solutions, as well as strengthening cooperation between educational institutions, government agencies and industrial enterprises in the field of environmental safety.

The Department of Technosphere Safety at the Energy Institute continues to actively develop the Technosphere Safety direction, training qualified specialists who are able to effectively solve current environmental and technosphere problems in the country and the region.
