About the Programs “Technology of Functional Food Products” and
“Technology of Public Catering and Restaurant Business”
The main educational program of higher professional education in the field 740300 “Technology of Public Catering” and “Technology of Public Catering and Restaurant Business” is aimed at training master’s graduates capable of innovative professional activity in the fields of education and scientific research, the food industry, public catering, management, and trade.
The program is focused on developing universal and professional competencies required for organizing and managing food production, implementing modern food systems and technologies, and ensuring the competitiveness and sustainability of graduates in the labor market.
An important component of the program is the development of students’ social and personal qualities, such as goal orientation, organizational skills, diligence, responsibility, civic awareness, communication skills, tolerance, and a high level of general culture.
The implementation of the program is based on the principles of a two-tier higher education system, active student participation in shaping individual educational trajectories, practice-oriented and competency-based learning approaches, the use of credit and modular rating assessment systems, alignment of learning outcome assessment with professional requirements, and the development of graduates’ professional and social activity.
Career Opportunities
After completing the program in 740300 “Technology of Food Products and Organization of Public Catering,” graduates may work as specialists in various professional fields. They can carry out production and technological activities related to organizing and improving public catering production processes, implementing modern technologies, and controlling the quality and safety of raw materials and finished products.
Graduates may also engage in research activities, developing new technologies and technological solutions, conducting studies on the properties of food raw materials and products, analyzing and presenting research results, including opportunities for practical implementation and commercialization.
In the field of organizational and managerial activities, graduates may work as managers or executives, organize workforce operations, manage technological processes, implement quality and food safety management systems, and ensure industrial and environmental safety at public catering enterprises.
Project and technological training enables graduates to participate in the design, reconstruction, and opening of public catering enterprises; develop technological and regulatory documentation; select and calculate equipment; conduct economic calculations and marketing research; and develop business plans.
In addition, graduates may pursue teaching activities, working as lecturers or staff training specialists, participating in the development of educational programs, conducting lectures, laboratory and practical classes, and organizing students’ research activities.
Prospects
The department actively develops international cooperation with universities in neighboring and distant foreign countries. Within the framework of international cooperation, the department collaborates with the following universities:
- Almaty Technological University (internships for 2nd–3rd year students through academic mobility programs and joint student research projects);
- Kemerovo State Technological University (Russia);
- Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University;
- Ural State University of Economics.
As part of the implementation of the dual education system, curricula have been developed at the department. It is planned that students will undertake internships at food industry enterprises in Germany after the first year of study.
An agreement has been signed between the United Nations World Food Programme, the Ministry of Education and Science, and Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov on the establishment of a Republican Competence Center at the Department of Public Catering Technology to implement the State Program “Development of School Nutrition in the Kyrgyz Republic.”
The project includes the acquisition of modern technological equipment, furniture, and machinery, which will subsequently serve as the department’s laboratory base.

Form of Study
Education is provided on a state-funded (budget) and tuition-based (contract) basis.
The duration of study is 2 years.
Admission to both budget and contract forms of study is carried out solely based on GPA results.
Admission Dates
Acceptance of documents begins in early July, based on ORT results and entrance examinations for applicants after college and for foreign citizens from neighboring and distant countries.
