Material and technical base

The Department of Textile and Light Industry's facilities meet modern requirements and ensure the full implementation of educational programs, as well as scientific research in the textile and light industry. Teaching and research are conducted in specialized laboratories equipped with modern technology, including computers, computer-aided design (CAD) systems, a plotter, modern sewing equipment for various purposes, multimedia and video equipment, and more.

The department's educational and laboratory facilities include nine specialized laboratories (computer labs and specialized labs). The total classroom space is 466.2 square meters.

The department also operates the Light Industry Training Center "Human Resources Industry," created with the technical support of the Global Textile and Clothing Program, implemented by the International Trade Center and funded by the Swiss Government. The "Personnel Industry" Training and Research Center operates a digital information lab equipped with licensed Grafis CAD software version 12—a modern automated pattern design system that significantly improves the efficiency of developing, modeling, and implementing new clothing designs into production.

To enhance the industry's competitiveness, implement innovative technologies, and meet international quality standards, the "Materials Science for Textile and Light Industry Production" educational and scientific lab (room 2/219) was established in the 2024–2025 academic year. The lab is designed to support undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students, as well as to provide laboratory services to industrial enterprises, including examinations and testing of raw materials and finished products.

To equip the lab, modern testing equipment from Metrotex was purchased for a total of 4,435,000 soms, including:
• MT-160 air permeability measuring device;
• MT-197M electric croquemeter for determining fabric color fastness to dry and wet friction;
• MT-110-5 universal testing machine;
• MT-580-M video system for analyzing the composition and surface characteristics of animal, plant, and mineral fibers.

Metrotex is an official manufacturer of testing equipment and manufactures it in accordance with the technical regulations of the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as GOST, EN, ISO, IEC, and European Union standards. All purchased equipment has valid verification certificates confirming its compliance with metrological control requirements and ensuring the reliability of test results.
