Projects implemented by the Department of «Technology of Light Industry Products»

Since 2018, the Department of «Technology of Light Industry Products» (TILP) in the field 740700 «Technology and Design of Light Industry Products» has been implementing a Bachelor's degree program in Textile and Leather Technology under the DAAD Eastern Partnership Program («Östliche Partnerschaft»).

As part of the program, German professors give guest lectures to students, teachers of the TILP Department undergo international internships, and students have the opportunity to participate in academic mobility at the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau (Germany), allowing them to improve their professional skills and become familiar with modern European technologies in the field of textile and light industry.

In 2019-2024 KSTU implemented a project within the framework of the Trade Promotion Program in the Kyrgyz Republic, carried out with the technical support of the Global Textile and Clothing Program (GTEX) and the International Trade Centre (ITC), funded by the Government of Switzerland. The project aimed to strengthen the export potential of the textile and clothing industry, increase the competitiveness of domestic enterprises, and improve the personnel training system

Within the framework of the project, a Training Center for Light Industry «Industry of Personnel» was established at the Department of Technology of Light Industry Products. The center focuses on the training, retraining, and professional development of specialists for enterprises in the textile and clothing industry. The educational activities of the center are carried out on the basis of a valid license.

Currently, the Center implements additional educational programs (courses) in the following areas: designer – operator of computer-aided clothing design according to the Grafis 12 program; garment manufacturing technologist (in-line method); Clo3D for clothing designers; seamstress – operator (high-speed sewing courses); quality management system in the garment industry; clothing designer (manual design).

The programs are aimed at both novice specialists and employees of enterprises seeking to improve their professional skills and master modern digital technologies.

As a result of the project, a specialized educational and production laboratory was created, equipped with modern industrial sewing machines, as well as a computer classroom with the licensed GRAFIS 12 program and a large-format inkjet plotter for printing life-size patterns. This equipment allows students to fully master the process of designing and preparing products for production – from design development and digital modeling to creating finished patterns. Training sessions and seminars were held for teachers and representatives of sewing enterprises.

The establishment of the «Personnel Industry» Training Center has become an important stage in developing the human resource potential of the light industry in the Kyrgyz Republic and in strengthening the university's cooperation with industrial enterprises.
