Professor of the Department of Water, Oil and Gas Resources and Georisks of the Kyrgyz Mining and Metallurgical Institute named after Academician U. Asanaliev of the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov.

Education: higher, graduated from the Frunze Polytechnic Institute (1975), qualification in the specialty: mining engineer-hydrogeologist. Postgraduate study at the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, defense of the dissertation of candidate of geological and mineralogical sciences (1982), doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences (1992).

Research interests: engineering geology, soil science, permafrost science, loess science, hydrogeology, engineering surveys, environmental engineering geology, fourth geology, geomorphology, modern tectonics, geoecology, oil and gas geology, disaster science, engineering geonomy, Earth science, General and Unified Theory of Paleostrength of Celestial Bodies and the Earth.

Professional activity and work experience: 1975 - 1976 Design Institute "Kyrgyzdortransproekt", engineer-geologist. 1976 - 1993 Institute of Geology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic - engineer, senior engineer, junior researcher, senior researcher; From 1977 to 1982, research intern and graduate student at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Geological Faculty, Department of Engineering Geology, Soil Science and Protection of the Geological Environment. 1993 - 1994 Head of the Department of Research of Scientific Achievements of the State Committee on Science and New Technologies of the Kyrgyz Republic. 1994 - 1996 Chief Researcher of the Institute of Water Problems and Hydropower of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. 1996 - 2006 Ministry of Ecology and Emergencies, group leader, then head of the department of "Forecasting and monitoring of emergency situations". 2006 - Central Asian Institute of Applied Geosciences (CAIAG), leading researcher, from 2009 to 2014 acting head of the department of "Geodynamics and geo-disasters", from 2015 to the present leading researcher of the department of "Geodynamics and geo-risks".

PROJECTS scientific and applied developments: 1. GTZ project Project: UNESCO MAB GTZ "Issyk-Kul Biosphere Territory" (1996-1998). 2. ADRC Project: “Strengthening the Preparedness and Recovery of the Kyrgyz Republic’s Population in Transition to Prepare and Train Schoolchildren, Students, and the Population to Mitigate the Impact of Natural Disasters.” (2005-2006). 3. PALM Project: Sustainable Land Management in the Pamir and Pamir-Alai Mountains – An Integrated and Transboundary Initiative in Central Asia (2010). 4. Public training manuals and brochures on how to guide local residents during active earthquakes, landslides, avalanches, mudflows, and mountain lake outbursts. Development of technical solutions and implementation of project proposals for Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. (2010). He was a co-executor of development projects in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic to create landslide inventories in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the ISTC project "Hydrochemical monitoring and profit from mining and uranium tailings in the basins of transboundary rivers of the Central Asian countries: Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan" (2019-2022).

Guidance and consultations on the preparation of dissertations: candidate (Chaus A.K., Erokhin S.A., Atykenova E.E., Dudashvili A.S. - Kyrgyzstan; Sharifov G.V. - Tajikistan) and doctoral (Orolbaeva L.E. - Kyrgyzstan, Lagutin E.I., Edigenov M.B. - Kazakhstan Valiev Sh.F. - Tajikistan).

Priority areas of scientific, applied and pedagogical activity:

- development of a cryodegradation concept for the formation of catastrophic properties of forest species subsidence.

- management of multi-scale series of the following thematic maps: distribution and forecast of forest subsidence, interrelations of surface and groundwater, ecological and hydrogeological, soil salinity, observations of georisks from exogenous and endogenous factors, processes and impacts on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic;

- creation of composite series of engineering-geological and geoecological maps and developed models of soil properties in design and scientific organizations;

- developed maps and models of the transformation of the roof of the lithosphere of water origin in collaboration with dissertators, established patterns of formation and transit of underground runoff under climate change in the intracontinental orogenic territories of Central Asia;

- carrying out work in the field of forecasting, taking into account preventive measures to protect the population and managing natural and man-made phenomena in the Kyrgyz Tien Shan and in the transboundary territories of certain countries.

Publications: 553 scientific, applied, forecasting, educational works have been published for use by students, postgraduates, doctoral students, schoolchildren and the general public. 70 monographs, scientific manuals, map atlases, 130 thematic, analytical synthesized maps, 20 articles in journals indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science, 24 copyright certificates of Kyrgyzpatent have been published.

Awards: "Honorary Diploma of the Kyrgyz Republic (2003), the "Excellent Education" badge of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Honorary Badge of the Ministry of Economy and Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic "KORGOO".
