The history of the Institute
The Institute of Technology was founded in 1954 and is one of the oldest institutes of the I. Razzakov KSTU. On the basis of our institute, certified specialists are trained as technological engineers and designers for the garment industry.
It was first introduced as part of the Institute of Mechanics and Technology by the Department of Food Products, which trained process engineers for the food industry in the following specialties: "Technology of meat and meat products", "Technology of milk and dairy products", as well as "Technology of canning" (1958), which for 20 years was headed by the head of the department K.S. Cheshev. In 1955, the Department of "Food Products" was transformed into the Faculty of Technology.
From 1961 to 1991, professional training of food specialists in a cooperative set was carried out not only for Kyrgyzstan, but also for Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.
The Institute of Technology has trained several thousand process engineers for the food and processing industries of these countries.
Since 1978, at the Faculty of Technology, the Department of Canning Technology has been training personnel in the food industry such as: "Technology of public catering products", "Technology of winemaking and food concentrates"; "Standardization and certification", etc.
In 1962, the Department of "Machines and Apparatuses of Food production" was founded, which trains mechanical engineers in three specialties: equipment for meat processing plants; equipment for chemical processing plants; equipment for dairy industries. Since 1965 The department was headed by Associate Professor V.G. Abdyushev. During the creation of the department, much effort was directed at equipping laboratories with samples of existing equipment in relevant industries, to purchase educational literature, and methodological support for the educational process. Since 1968, the duties of the head of the department have been performed by Associate Professor F.E. Dychenko, who made a significant contribution to the training of highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel, which were clearly lacking at that time. Young teachers of the department were sent to the targeted postgraduate schools of the leading universities of the USSR in Moscow, Leningrad, Krasnodar: Omurzakov D.O., Sadyrov O.A., Soburov K.A. and others.
As a result of the liquidation of the Bishkek branch of the All-Union Correspondence Institute of the Food Industry, students were trained in the specialties "Technology of bakery, pasta and confectionery production", "Technology of sugar and sugary substances", "Technology of fats and margarine products" by the departments of the Institute.
During its existence, the institute has repeatedly undergone internal restructuring, the purpose of which was to strive to maintain its position as a leading educational and scientific center that defines state policy in the field of training highly qualified specialists for the national economy, necessary not only for industry processing agricultural raw materials, but also for trade, light industry and tourism.
So, in 1983, as a result of the reorganization, the Department of Food Production Technology was established, which trains technological engineers in the following specialties: "Technology of meat and meat products", "Technology of milk and dairy products", "Technology of bread, pasta and confectionery". In 2012, bachelor's degree programs in Biotechnology were conducted at the same department.
By order of the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz SSR, training of specialists for the garment industry began in 1987.
In 1989, the Department of "Technology and Design of sewing products" was established to train specialists for the light industry of Kyrgyzstan. The initiator of the opening, the organizer and the head of the department was Imankulova Ayim Sattarova, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, winner of the State Prize in Science and Technology. In 1991, the profile "Technology and design of leather products" was opened. Subsequently, on the basis of the unification of these departments, the current department of "Technology of light Industry products" was created. In many ways, thanks to graduates of this department: technologists and designers, Kyrgyzstan's light industry entered the international market.
Since 1995, the Faculty of Technology (Institute) at the TILP Department has been accepting recruitment for the specialty "Artistic product Design" for the training of professional fashion designers and designers. On the basis of the same department, students were trained in the specialty "Design". Since 2009, after separating from the Department of "Technology of Light Industry Products", the Department of "Artistic Product Design" has been functioning as an independent structural unit. The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies, responsible for the fundamental training of technology students in the field of natural sciences, was and still is an integral part of the Institute. The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies provides teaching of chemical disciplines to students of technological and technical areas of full-time and part-time education. In the process of studying, students of technological directions, in accordance with their profile, receive the necessary knowledge in chemistry: inorganic and organic, analytical and physico-chemical methods of analysis, physical and colloidal chemistry, physics and chemistry of polymers – disciplines that are basic for mastering special disciplines. On the basis of the department, since 1997. International, National, and city chemistry Olympiads are successfully held. The teachers of the department, as part of expert commissions, develop the task of the Olympiad, and the jury evaluates the knowledge of schoolchildren. The deans who headed the Institute at various stages of its development made a great contribution to the development of the institute. These are Potocki M.G. (1954-58), Dychenko F.Z. (1958-63), Korchagin N.K. (1963-66) Omurzakov D.O. (1966-71), Batkibekova M.B. (1971-77; 1986-90), Dean of the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences in (1993-99), Usenbaev K.U. (1977-81 Sadyrov O.A. (1982-86), Baigazieva M.D. (1990-92), Suponina T.A. (1995-2000), Kulmurzaev A.K. (2000-02). From 2004 to the present, the dean of the TF is Dzhunushalieva T.Sh. Dean of the TF (2004-2021). It should be noted that Professor Batkibekova M.B., a graduate of the University of Plovdiv, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, Director of NIHTI, academician of the International Academy of Engineering, has earned well-deserved honor and respect from the faculty and students for her high professionalism. A prominent sponsor of the institute was its graduate Sadyrov O.A., now Vice-president of Stuart Essay and Environmental Laboratories LLC, PhD, "Honorary Professor" of the I. Razzakov KSTU. He made great efforts to modernize the TI laboratory base: with the funds of a technical grant in the total amount of over 250 thousand rubles. $ A computer lab and a Thermo Jarrell Ash spectrometer have been created. The Institute of Technology has opened training centers such as: - The Educational and Practical center of the food and processing industry “Technologist“ at the I. Razzakov KSTU (UOC "Technologist") was established in 2013 as part of the Agribusiness and Marketing project with financial support from the World Bank and the Japanese Government. The material and technical base of the UOC Technologist includes: 4 educational and production workshops (workshops for processing meat, milk, vegetables and fruits and a workshop for the production of bakery, pasta and confectionery products), 3 laboratories (chemical, microbiological and sensory), 2 classrooms, a library and a shop. The "Republican Competence Center" for the training and retraining of cooks and kitchen staff of educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan "RCK" was opened in 2022 on the basis of an order from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic in cooperation with the United Nations World Food Program with the technical support of the Russian Institute of Industrial Nutrition (SIFI). RCC is aimed at training and improving the professional skills of chefs, kitchen staff and staff involved in the organization of school meals. The Center promotes healthy eating and works to improve the quality of nutrition for schoolchildren using international best practices, the latest technologies and modern approaches to learning. - The Human Resources Industry Light Industry Training Center was established in 2020 with the technical support of the Global Textile and Clothing Program (GTEX) and the International Trade Center (ITC), as well as with the financial support of the Swiss Government. The Training Center provides professional training, retraining and advanced training of light industry personnel using the latest technologies and modern approaches to training. During the Institute's existence, the main goal of its development has been to improve the institute's educational programs, ensure high-quality educational process, create a good laboratory base, and achieve a leading position in the educational space of the country and the region.
