The Department of Preservation Technology has been operating since 1958, it trains specialists for the food and processing industry, bodies for standardization and conformity assessment of food products, as well as for various companies involved in the import and export of food products. With the growth and development of the food industry, taking into account the latest achievements of science and technology and the requirements of the labor market, the list of specialties for which training is being carried out has significantly expanded. These are: “Technology of canned food and food concentrates”, “Technology of winemaking and fermentation industries”, “Standardization and certification of food products”, “Safety and quality of food products”.
And also, there is a training of bachelors since 2012 and masters since 2016 in the directions 740100 “Technology and production of food products from plant materials”, 700600 “Standardization, certification and metrology”. The form of education is two-level: bachelors - 4 years and masters - 2 years. There is a correspondence form of education in all areas and levels.
The department has: a laboratory of microbiology equipped with modern equipment, laboratories of biochemistry, food technology, research methods for the quality of raw materials, semi-finished products and food; lecture halls equipped with information technology, there is also a modern educational and production base "Technologist" with production equipment, where students are adapted to the production environment.
The department has: a laboratory of microbiology equipped with modern equipment, laboratories of biochemistry, food technology, methods for studying the quality of raw materials, semi-finished products and food products; lecture halls equipped with information technology tools, there is also a modern training and production base "Technologist" with production equipment, where students are adapting to the production environment.
Active work is being carried out with international organizations and associations of domestic enterprises to improve the quality of the educational process and increase the competence of staff. EU ERASMUS + project “Higher Education for Food Production Systems and Standards” (HEСAFS), UN, UNDP, USAID projects on food technology and safety.
The department has significant potential, primarily due to the highly professional teaching staff, which includes 3 professors; 3 associate professors; 3 senior teachers; 1 teacher. Among them: an excellent student of education of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ph.D., Professor Kozhobekova K.K.; Excellence in Education of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ph.D., Professor Kodzhegulova D.A.; Excellence in Education of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ph.D., Professor Usupkozhoeva A.A.; Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Elemanova R.Sh., Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Satybaldieva A.M., Ph.D., Associate Professor Kasymakunova A.M., senior lecturers: Konkubaeva, excellent student of education of the Kyrgyz Republic N.U., Alymkulova N.B., Dzhamaeva A.E., teacher Syrymbekova E.A.
Since its inception, the department has trained more than 2,500 food industry specialists (canning, winemaking, sugar industry and conformity assessment bodies) for Kyrgyzstan and other republics of Central Asia and Kazakhstan. Graduates of the department successfully work in the following food enterprises and food product conformity assessment bodies: LLC Prodimpeks, JSC "Gul-Azyk", LLC "AYU", LLC "ARPA BISHKEK", LLC "Kyrgyz Konyagy", OJSC "Kyrgyz chocolates", OJSC " Bishkeksut", LLC "Adal Azyk", KAV&KEV LLC PRODUCTION COMPANY, Center for Standardization and Metrology, Kulikovsky Confectionery House, private certification bodies. In recent years, with an increase in the number of processing enterprises, the demand for graduates of the department has also increased, applications are received from Tokmokplodoovoshch JSC, Gul-Azyk JSC, the Kulikovsky confectionery house, Toyboss LLC, Kyrgyz Chocolates OJSC, Arpa JSC and other enterprises. Market analysis shows that about 90 percent of graduates work in their specialty. It is important to note that Kyrgyzstan is an agrarian country, has great potential in the production and processing of plant materials. Given the above, we can conclude that the specialists released by the department are in high demand in the food industry. In recent years, there has been a shortage of competent specialists in this area, and a “personnel hole” has been noticed at enterprises. In this regard, it is necessary to increase the output.
Graduates of the department continue their studies at the magistracy at KSTU. I. Razzakov; at St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics; faculty: food biotechnology and engineering and in other foreign universities.
The methodological support of the department is at a sufficient level.
