Currently, there has been a steady growth in the production of processed fruits and vegetables, as well as drinks (quick-frozen fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, jams and marmalades, juices, wine products, cognac, beer, drinks, mineral waters). At the same time, an analysis of the sales of these products over the past 10-15 years has shown that sales of these products are also growing.
And also, according to the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the EAEU, food enterprises must develop and implement a food safety management system, therefore, enterprises need quality specialists, where the department provides training in the profile - Safety and quality of food production.
Therefore, graduates of our department work not only at enterprises producing products from plant materials, but also in companies involved in the import and export of these products, where competent and technically competent personnel are needed. In addition, due to migration processes, there is a shortage of necessary specialists at enterprises.
Graduates of our department can work in all food enterprises, conformity assessment and food control bodies.

The term of full-time study for bachelors is 4 years, for masters 2 years. The department trains bachelors and masters on credit technology of education. The department has more than 50 years of experience in training specialists for the food and processing industries, specialists in the field of standardization and certification of food products. It is equipped with modern laboratory facilities and has a methodological base that meets modern requirements. A computer database of educational materials, electronic versions of textbooks, laboratory work has been created.

Graduates of the department, graduating from the university in the direction - Technology and production of food from plant materials, can carry out the following types of professional activities:

  • food technology;
  • organizational and managerial;
  • research;
  • design.

Direction - Standardization and metrology, profile - Standardization and certification of food production:

  • food quality and safety management (all food enterprises);
  • testing of food raw materials and food products (testing laboratories);
  • conformity assessment (certification bodies);
  • accreditation (accreditation bodies);
  • standardization (standardization bodies).

Having deep general technical knowledge, graduates of the department can also work in research and design institutions, standardization, certification and metrology bodies, and management structures. Every year, about 85% of the graduates of the department are employed by state, private and joint-stock food enterprises, scientific institutions and universities, as well as management organizations related to the processing of agricultural raw materials and quality control of food products in Kyrgyzstan and other CIS countries. Graduates of the department continue their studies in magistracy and postgraduate studies in Thailand, Germany, Russia, Turkey, China.
