History of the Department of Engineering Pedagogy

In 1988, the specialty 03.02. "Labor" was opened at the Frunze Polytechnic Institute in order to train teachers of labor training for secondary schools and colleges on the basis of the department "Metal-cutting machines and Tools" of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
In 1991, a separate department "Engineering Pedagogy" was created, the head of which was appointed, and then elected by competition, Ph.D., associate professor Kenensariev K.S.
In 1995 it was merged with the Department of "Tools and Equipment of Machine-building Production", and in 1996 it was merged with the Department of "Equipment and Automation of Mechanical Engineering" of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
With the transition to a multi-stage KTU education system, an agreement was concluded between KTU and professional lyceums, technical schools. This made it possible to meet the need of vocational lyceums, technical schools, colleges for engineering and pedagogical personnel. In this regard, there was a need to continue training specialists in the direction of 0.04. "Vocational training", and by the decision of the Academic Council of KTU in 1999, the Department of Engineering Pedagogy was re-established. The head of the department was again elected Candidate of Technical Sciences, Assoc. Kenensariev K.S.
Until 1997, the department graduated students in the specialty "Labor", with the qualification "Teacher of labor training and general technical disciplines", and since 1998 it has been preparing in the specialty 504.501. "Vocational training" (by industry) with the qualification "engineer — teacher", for teaching in technical disciplines in secondary specialized educational institutions, colleges and universities. The department expands specializations in the training of engineering teachers.

From 1991 to 2003, the department was headed by the Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor Kenensariev Kydyk Sayakbayevich, 2003 to 2005, the department was headed by the Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Dykanaliev K.M., from 2005 to 2006 — Ph.D., Associate Professor Arzykulova A.T., 2006 to 2010 — Ph.D., Professor Kenensariev K.S., from 2010 to 2017 - Ph.D., Associate Professor Dykanaliev K.M., from 2017 to 2019 - Ph.D., Professor Asanaliev M.K. At the moment, the head of the department is Ph.D., Associate Professor Mamyrova Meerim Ishenbekovna

Our students take an active part not only in the life of the group and the university, but also in the social life of the Kyrgyz Republic

During the period of its existence, the department has produced more than 1000 graduates who successfully work in their specialty. Graduates of the department carry out pedagogical activities in the system of vocational education, as well as perform engineering work in various fields of modern production by specialization in Kyrgyzstan, CIS countries and foreign countries. A number of graduates of the department are graduate students and leading teachers in universities and colleges of Kyrgyzstan. Graduate Mashiev I.A. defended his PhD thesis in the direction of "Technology of transport processes".

Since 2019, the department has been headed by Ph.D., Associate Professor Mamyrova Meerim Ishenbekovna. At the moment, the teaching staff of the department consists of 9 employees: PhD, professor. Akmatkulov A.A., Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Dykanaliev K.M., associate professor of KSTU Zholdoshov M.K.; senior Rev. Bakirov B.Zh., senior Rev. Abdusamatova Zh.K., teachers Kenensarieva T.K., Kalyybayeva M.K.

On the basis of the department, since 2020, the training of technology teachers for secondary schools in Kyrgyzstan in the direction 550500 "Technological education" with the qualification "technology teacher" has been resumed.
