THE DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES PROVIDES PRACTICAL ENGLISH AND GERMAN LANGUAGE COURSES FOR I-YEAR STUDENTS OF ALL MAJORS.

  DURING ONE SEMESTER.

  THE FOLLOWING DISCIPLINES ARE ASSIGNED TO THE DEPARTMENT:

-FOREIGN LANGUAGE 3 CREDITS; 32 PRACTICAL HOURS;

-TECHNICAL FOREIGN LANGUAGE 5 CREDITS; 64 PRACTICAL HOURS.

The chair teaches these disciplines in all directions with the distribution of groups by language proficiency levels (distribution takes place during the orientation week from August 26 to August 30 annually according to the schedule in the form of written testing and oral interview) for students of IIT, EI, IT&R, IET, MBSL, HSEB, TI, KGMI, KISI, IAD and MA.

The working programs are compiled taking into account the module-rating system of control in accordance with the requirements of skills and abilities of students of non-language universities.

The specificity of the program lies in the methodological principle of interrelated training of speech activity types - listening, speaking, reading and writing.

The working program provides for a boundary control after the completion of each module. The requirements for knowledge, skills and abilities for each module are specific and are reflected in the control tasks and tests for modules. Today students take the final exam in foreign languages (English, German) in 2 stages: 1) written exam (tasks are developed by the teachers of the department, the exam ticket is formed and approved by the Training Department); 2) oral questioning on the passed topics.

The working program is accompanied by a plan - outlines of individual lessons, syllabuses, handouts. The department has a rich didactic material in the form of schemes, tables, albums, stands, maps, widely used in the educational process.

Each teacher has a syllabus, his own didactic material and develops a task in accordance with the level of training of students. Control of fulfillment is carried out by the head of the department.

Methodical support of the disciplines of the department is carried out as far as there are material and technical possibilities of KSTU. Structural and content components of the working program are equipped with methodical instructions and recommendations for students of 1-courses of full-time education and distance learning with the use of DOT. Certain educational-methodical literature is developed by the teachers of the department, which is one of the sections of the organization of the educational process.

The staff of the department has developed teaching materials for English and German languages at the levels: Beginner, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate. All educational material, including Working Programs, syllabuses, test papers, tests, methodical instructions, glossary are placed on the educational portal AVN.
