The department of foreign languages provides teaching of practical courses of English and German languages for 1st year students. The total classroom hours are 32 hours by the curriculum.
Department fixed disciplines are:
Foreign language 4 credit; 64 practical hours
Technical foreign language 5 credit; 64 practical hours;
The department carries out teaching of these discipline in all directions by dividing groups into the levels of language proficiency (dividing of groups take during the approximately week from august 26th to august 30th every year according to the schedule in written or oral form) at all institutes: IIT, EI, ITR, IET, IE, TI, KGTI, KCEI, KMMI, IHSE, HSEB and master’s degree.
The work programs are made by according the modular rating. System of control and presentable skills of non- linguistic university students.
The specific of the program is that it includes the methodological principle of the interrelated learning typed of speech activities: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The work program provides for boundary control after the completion of each module. The requirements for knowledge, skills and abilities for each module are specific and are reflected in the control tasks and tests for the modules. Today, students take the final exam in foreign languages (English, German) in 2 stages: 1) written exam (tasks are developed by teachers of the Department, the exam ticket is formed and approved by the Educational Department); 2) oral survey on the topics covered.
The work program includes plan-summaries of individual lessons, syllabuses, and handouts. The Department has a rich didactic material in the form of diagrams, tables, albums, stands, maps, widely used in the educational process.
Each teacher has a syllabus, his didactic material and develops the task in accordance with the level of training of students. Control of implementation is carried out by the head of the Department.
Methodological support of disciplines of the Department is carried out according to the availability of material and technical capabilities of KSTU. Structural and substantive components of the work program are equipped with guidelines and recommendations for students of 1-year full-time education and distance learning with the use of DOT. Certain educational and methodical literature is developed by teachers of the Department, which is one of the sections of the educational process.
Educational and Methodical Complex is developed by the stuff of Department in English and German languages by levels: Beginner, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate. All educational material, including work programs, syllabuses, tests, guidelines, glossaries are arranged on the educational portal AVN.
The Department has a sufficiently amount of necessary literature for the implementation of the educational process, developed by the teachers of the Department.
Students use the library of KSTU. Textbooks, guidelines, methodical recommendations as for all specialties and for individual specialties.
At the German language section period 2016-2019 academic years were worked out and published three training and teaching methodical works, including the electronic access through the library of KSTU-www.libkstu.on.kg. According to the English language section for 2016-2019, 12 academic training and teaching aids were developed and published.
