Magical New Year's celebration: The Department of Foreign Languages presented unforgettable emotions!
On December 25, a true New Year's magic emerged! The event organized by the Department of Foreign Languages, which everyone eagerly awaited based on the announcement, gathered students, teachers, and colleagues in a whirlwind of joy, celebration, and warm intercultural unity. The atmosphere was filled with delight and inspiration, as if every participant became part of a big friendly family!
Participants dove into the program with great enthusiasm: deeply emotional New Year's songs and poems in English, German, and French languages, performed by students with soul and talent. A special place was taken by the video congratulations from staff, teachers, and students in English, German, and French – this was a real emotional gift, full of sincere wishes, warmth, and festive radiance, which touched everyone to the depths of their souls! Creative numbers ignited the hearts of all present – these were true masterpieces, where every gesture and word breathed with festive inspiration! And the fun quizzes and games with prizes sparked bursts of laughter and excitement, uniting everyone in friendly competition and gifting a sea of positive emotions!
The evening's climax became truly deeply touching: the collective performance of the legendary hit "Last Christmas" echoed through the hall, forcing hearts to beat in unison, while the marathon of New Year's wishes in various languages turned into a stream of sincere words of love, hope, and warmth! Everyone could share their congratulations, and this created a sense of real miracle – participants couldn't hold back smiles and tears of joy. The warm, friendly atmosphere contributed not only to informal communication but also to passionate practice of language skills, leaving an indelible mark in everyone's souls!
The goals of this magical event were filled with deep meaning: to inspire the study of foreign languages in a joyful, relaxed environment, to strengthen emotional bonds between students and teachers, and to ignite the spark of festive mood on the eve of the New Year! On December 11, at the Department of Foreign Languages, Associate Professor Mazhieva R.M. conducted an open lesson on the topic "Deutschland" (Germany) with students from the Institute of Information Technologies, group "Information Systems Security-1-25." The event was aimed at expanding students' knowledge about the culture, history, and traditions of Germany, as well as strengthening interest in studying foreign languages and intercultural exchange.
The lesson proceeded in accordance with the pre-prepared plan and aroused great interest among the participants. In the first part, students familiarized themselves with general information about Germany: its geographical location, history, economy, and key attractions. Associate Professor Mazhieva R.M. spoke about Germany's role in Europe and the world, emphasizing its contribution to science, technology, and culture. This part helped students form a general idea of the country and motivated them for further study.
In the second part, a presentation about Berlin—the capital of Germany—was presented. The group students prepared materials about famous places such as the Brandenburg Gate, the Berlin Wall, and the Reichstag, as well as about the modern life of the city. The presentation included visual aids, photographs, and interesting facts, which made the lesson more engaging and interactive. Participants actively discussed how Berlin combines historical heritage and innovations.
The third part of the lesson was dedicated to the anthems of Kyrgyzstan and Germany. Students performed the anthem of the Kyrgyz Republic, and then listened to and analyzed the anthem of the Federal Republic of Germany ("Deutschlandlied"). This allowed comparing the cultural symbols of the two countries, emphasizing the values of unity and patriotism, and also contributed to the development of listening and pronunciation skills in the German language. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm, and the performance of the anthems became an emotional climactic moment.
In the concluding part of the lesson, Associate Professor Mazhieva R.M. summed up the results, noting the students' activity and involvement. She expressed gratitude to the participants and emphasized the importance of such open lessons for the development of international understanding and professional competencies in the field of information security. Students shared their impressions, noting that the lesson not only enriched their knowledge about Germany but also inspired them to study the German language.
This event became a vivid example of the integration of the educational process with cultural enlightenment at the department, contributing to the formation of well-rounded specialists. In the future, it is planned to conduct similar lessons on other countries to further expand the students' horizons.
On December 11, the Department of Foreign Languages, together with first-year students who are studying foreign languages, held an event titled “The World of Aitmatov – Eternal Legacy”, dedicated to the creative work of the great Kyrgyz and world writer, a classic of the 20th–21st centuries, People’s Writer of Kyrgyzstan, and Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic — Chingiz Torekulovich Aitmatov.
The aim of the event was to study foreign languages while enriching the spiritual world of students and promoting the legacy of the great writer. It sought to develop students’ skills in fluent speaking and expressing thoughts in English through reading excerpts from the writer’s works and staging performances, as well as to motivate students to explore Aitmatov’s creative heritage. The event also aimed to nurture acting skills and creative abilities.
The program included flash mob scenes from Chingiz Aitmatov’s works performed in the foreign languages being studied (English, German, French): “Early Cranes,” “Jamila,” “Face to Face,” and the monologue “Tolgonai.” Original and well-known poetic lines dedicated to the writer were recited in honor of Chingiz Aitmatov. Guests were asked questions about Aitmatov’s life and work. The winners received commemorative prizes. The Director of the International Higher School of Logistics, Umetaliyev A. S., expressed gratitude to the organizers and emphasized the importance of Aitmatov’s literary heritage. Active participants were awarded certificates.
The event was held at a high level in a warm and inspiring atmosphere. The students demonstrated initiative, creativity, and a deep understanding of Aitmatov’s works. It became a vivid example of cultural dialogue and the preservation of the spiritual values of the great writer.

On December 8, the Department of Foreign Languages hosted an educational event titled "Manas – the History and Spirit of the Kyrgyz People" under the guidance of teacher Abdisatarova E.A., with the participation of students from the Institute of Information Technologies. The main goal of this event was to explain in detail to students the historical, cultural, and spiritual significance of the epic "Manas," to introduce the national values of the Kyrgyz people, their traditions and customs, to develop patriotic feelings and national consciousness among the youth, and to increase interest in oral folk art, especially the art of manaschi.
The event proceeded accurately and meaningfully in accordance with the pre-prepared plan. In the first part, Orozbaeva Aelita and Arzybaev Amantur organized a warm greeting, introducing the participants to the topic of the event. Then, Suyorkulova Burma conducted a special presentation on the epic "Manas," detailing its historical roots, heroes, and cultural significance using demonstrative materials. The presentation captivated the students with the depth of the epic and drew their attention.
In the next part, Koichumanova Sezim, with the aim of encouraging students to love their homeland, spoke about the seven precepts from the epic "Manas," explaining each precept with examples. This segment awakened patriotic feelings among the youth and made a significant contribution to strengthening the national spirit. Then, Kylichov Alisher demonstrated the art of manas storytelling, performing a portion of the epic at a high level and immersing the participants in the magic of manaschi. His performance was met with thunderous applause.
Another interesting part of the event was the report by Kenchibekova Shahida on the 12 features of the epic "Manas." She thoroughly analyzed the unique characteristics of the epic, its place in world culture, and its connection to the identity of the Kyrgyz people, providing students with new knowledge. Then, Bekenova Barchynai and Samarbekova Akinai conducted a question-and-answer session, where various questions were posed to reinforce the epic and historical materials in memory. Students actively participated, shared their opinions, and many interesting discussions emerged during the session.
At the end of the event, the organizer Abdisatarova E.A. delivered a concluding speech, expressing gratitude to the participants. She emphasized the significance of the epic "Manas" as the spiritual heritage of the Kyrgyz people and urged the youth to preserve national values. Throughout the event, student engagement was high; they not only grasped the depth of the epic but also strengthened their respect for their nation. This event became an important step within the department's educational efforts and served as an impetus for continuing similar events in the future.
Thanks to the efforts of the organizers and participants, the event was successfully conducted in line with the plan and played a major role in conveying to students the importance of the national spirit.
On December 2, as part of extracurricular activities in English language studies, a cultural and educational event dedicated to the American holiday Thanksgiving was held. The purpose of the event was to broaden students' horizons, develop their communicative skills in English, and introduce them to the traditions and cultural features of English-speaking countries.
The hosts greeted the guests in English, briefly explaining the significance of the holiday. Students prepared a multimedia presentation in which they discussed the history of the holiday, its traditions, and its importance to the American people. "Teacher and Students on Thanksgiving" – in a light and educational form, they performed a dialogue in English, discussing what one can be thankful for.
In the game "Thankful Tree," participants and guests wrote on leaves what they are grateful for in life and attached them to a paper tree. This created a warm and heartfelt atmosphere.
There was also an introduction to national dishes – participants presented traditional Thanksgiving foods (pancakes, pumpkin pie, and others) and explained their significance.
At the end, active participants in the event were awarded certificates of appreciation.
The event was interesting, lively, and educational. Students showed enthusiasm, expanded their knowledge of U.S. culture, and practiced English in a playful and creative way.
On November 3, with the active participation of first-year students and faculty from the department, a "Halloween" celebration was held. The event was organized and conducted in the studied language. The guests of the event were the Deputy Director of the International Higher School of Logistics for Educational Work, K.P. Rifert, and the Head of the Kyrgyz Language Department, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Ainura Zhumagul kyzy.
In the first part of the event, students were divided into pairs: Interviewers and Applicants. Each pair conducted a role-play interview in English, where participants demonstrated their communication skills, vocabulary knowledge, and creativity. The Applicant roles included traditional Halloween characters — a witch, a vampire, a zombie, a werewolf, a ghost, a skeleton, and others. Interviewers asked questions in a "spooky" style, for example:
- “What are your strongest spooky skills?”
- “Why should we hire you instead of the Mummy?”
- “How do you handle sunlight or garlic at work?”
Applicants gave original and humorous responses while staying in character. The performances were accompanied by themed decorations, costumes, and music, creating the atmosphere of a real holiday. After each interview, jury members provided brief feedback in English. The following were evaluated:
- Language proficiency (vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation),
- Creativity and role adherence,
- Confidence and artistry,
- Interviewer professionalism (interview structure, ability to ask questions).
Based on the performances, the jury determined winners in three nominations:
- “The Most Creative Applicant” — for the most original and artistic response.
- “The Most Professional Interviewer” — for confidence, fluent speech, and clear interview structure.
- “The Funniest Interview” — for humor and a fun atmosphere.
All participants received certificates of participation at the end of the event.
On 11 October 2023, the signing of cooperation agreements between Lingua Public Foundation for Innovative Education, the official Testing Centre "Leuning World" and the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov took place.
Rector of KSTU Mr. Mirlan Chynybaev in his welcoming speech noted that this cooperation is the development of promising areas in the field of professional development of English language teachers, contributing to the professional preparation of students to pass the official international examinations TOEIC and/or PTE Academic with confirmation of their language level for participation in international exchange programmes, academic mobility and other purposes.
In turn, the director of "Lingua", Ms. Gulnara Nazarbekova expressed readiness in training and retraining of teachers of English language in the introduction of innovative technologies and teaching methods, professional exchange, development of mentoring system, publication of methodological manuals and other resources, as well as for joint educational programmes and activities that will allow students and staff of the university to develop both language competencies and skills of the 21st century.
Ms. Zaripa Sagyndykova, Director of the Testing Centre "Leuning World", noted the importance and relevance of this cooperation, which gives an opportunity not only to improve the level of English, but also to prepare and pass an official test that meets international standards.
At the end of the conversation, the Rector of KSTU expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the Public Foundation for Innovative Education Lingua, the official Test Centre Löning Wold for such a fruitful cooperation, and wished success to the staff of the Department of Foreign Languages.

Thus, we leave behind one more year and together with our people to towards the new year and the new day of the muslim people, that is the holiday Nooruz is on the threshold. Therefore, today on the 19thof march, at the Department of foreign languages on the initiative of the teachers to Nooruz was held a festive event with students of the 1st year of English. In this festive event took past volenteers from America Alfred and Jordan. The aim of this event was to familiarise teenagers with.
