Department history

The Department of Finance, Analysis and Accounting was established on December 30, 1994, in connection with the development of the Faculty of Management and Economics in Construction at the Kyrgyz Architectural and Construction Institute. Initially, the department was called “Accounting and Audit.”

The training of specialists in the field of Accounting, Analysis, and Audit began in 1992 by a decision of the Academic Council of KSUCTA (Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport and Architecture). In 1996, the university held its first graduation of specialists in the field of Economics with a specialization in Accounting, Analysis, and Audit. A total of 28 students graduated, including five with honors, who were admitted to the master’s program and later joined the teaching staff of the “Accounting and Audit” department.

A significant role in practice-oriented education has been played by close cooperation with professionals — chief accountants, representatives of auditing firms, as well as specialists from the financial, tax, insurance, and banking sectors.

The department has accumulated substantial scientific, methodological, and pedagogical potential for training talented young professionals. Special attention is given to student research societies, where students, under the supervision of faculty members, conduct research on current topics related to the department’s field of study.

In 2001, by decision of the Academic Council of KSUCTA, the department launched a new educational program — “Finance and Credit (in Construction)”. In 2004, a master’s program in Finance and Credit was opened, and in 2018, two more programs were introduced: “Financial Analyst in the Investment and Construction Sector” and “Accounting, Analysis, and Audit in Construction Business Management.” These programs serve as a training ground for future economists.

In July 2022, by decision of the Academic Council of KSTU named after I. Razzakov, the department was renamed “Finance, Analysis and Accounting.”
