Educational Activities


The Department conducts organizational and educational activities in accordance with an annually approved comprehensive plan. This plan is aimed at enhancing students' cultural, spiritual, and educational development, fostering civic responsibility, patriotism, professional growth, and promoting self-realization among young individuals as active contributors to societal progress.

Each academic group is assigned a curator and a group leader, as per departmental guidelines. Every curator develops an educational plan for their respective group for the current academic year.

Curatorial responsibilities include the following:

• Developing an annual educational work plan for the group.

• Appointing group leaders and forming student committees, as well as familiarizing students with their academic curriculum.

• Acquainting students with university regulations and policies.

• Monitoring class attendance, academic performance, and tuition payments.

• Understanding the personal qualities, interests, and living conditions of each student.

• Maintaining regular communication with students' parents.

• Organizing and facilitating lectures and discussions on various organizational and educational topics.

• Coordinating cultural events within groups and across academic courses.

• Working with students residing in dormitories and rented accommodations.

Curators provide reports on tuition payments, attendance, and academic performance during departmental meetings.

Student Achievements in the Department of Applied Informatics

During the current academic year, students of the Department of Applied Informatics have demonstrated exceptional academic performance and active participation in university life, bringing pride to the Department, the Institute, and the University. Notable achievements include:

  1. A team comprising Nasirdinov Bektur Nurbekovich (PI-2-18), Moldokabylov Rinad Akylbekovich (PI-1-18), and Obolbekov Timur Melisbekovich (PIN-1-18) participated in the Spring Hackathon organized by the Kyrgyz-German Institute of Applied Informatics. They secured 3rd place among universities in Kyrgyzstan and were awarded a diploma and valuable prizes.
  2. A master's student from the PINmag-1-20 group, Asanbaev Akosha, actively engages in scientific research involving IoT technologies and robotics. In 2022, he developed a Robot Guide for the University, which was successfully presented to an evaluation committee. Additionally, he created a robot for the Department of Applied Informatics.
  3. During the competition “Best Poem about the University,” dedicated to the 30th anniversary of KSUСTA and held as part of a festival, Bektemirova Uulkelsin (PI-1-20) secured 2nd place.
  4. As part of the events marking the 30th anniversary of KSUSTA and in preparation for the XIV International Olympiad, a programming Hackathon was held at the Institute of New Information Technologies named after N. Isanov. On April 24, 2022, 4th-year students from the Faculty of Engineering participated and achieved 1st place, winning the Professor B.T. Ukuev Cup and a cash prize of 7,000 rubles. The winning team included: • Nasirdinov Bektur Nurbekovich (PI-2-18); • Moldokabylov Rinad Akylbekovich (PI-1-18); • Obolbekov Timur Melisbekovich (PIN-1-18).

    1. Zakirova Sezim, a senior student from the PI-1-20 group, actively participates in all university events and serves as an event organizer. She contributed an article sharing her views in the Usta Media newspaper.
    2. The Enactus KSTU-USTA team secured 2nd place in the “Race to Rethink Plastic” competition. From October 30 to November 2, 2022, the Enactus World Cup was held in Puerto Rico, with two teams representing Kyrgyzstan. The Enactus KSTU-USTA team participated as a finalist in the special category focused on plastic recycling.
    3. On November 2, 2022, 1st-year students from the Department of Applied Informatics at KSTU named after I. Razzakov (groups PI-1,2-22 and PIN-1,2-22, totaling 60 students), specializing in “Software Engineering” and “Applied Computer Science,” visited the High Technology Park of the Kyrgyz Republic. This visit was organized under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Orozobekova A.K., along with curators S.A. Mukambetova and G.A. Zhangazieva. The visit was timed to coincide with the celebration of Science Day in the Kyrgyz Republic.

    Students and undergraduates of the department actively engage in research work on graduate and commissioned topics, including the following notable projects:

    1. Katyunin K.O., senior student of group PIN-1-18, developed the project titled "Development of the Website of KSUСTA Named After N. Isanov," which also serves as the topic of their final qualifying work (FQW). This project was initiated upon the proposal of the rector's office, and the newly developed university website is currently under development.
    2. Students of group PIN-2-18, Usmanov O.M., successfully completed a commissioned project for Bishkek Passenger Dispatch Service LLC on the topic "Development of a Mobile Application for Tracking the Operation of Urban Passenger Transport (Minibus Taxi)." The project was put into production, and Usmanov O.M. received a letter of appreciation. Additionally, a student from group PIN-1-18 will receive an implementation certificate and a patent.
    3. Kachkynov S.B. completed and successfully implemented the development of a mobile application for tracking the operation of urban passenger transport (trolleybus).
    4. Astanin A.S., senior student of group PIN-2-18, developed a project titled "Development of an Information System for Distance Learning in the Python Course During the Pandemic." The project resulted in the creation of a website for conducting Python programming training, which is scheduled for implementation at the department.
    5. Nasirdinov B.N., senior student of group PIN-2-18, worked on the project titled "Development of an Information System for Tracking the Employment of Graduates of the Department of Applied Informatics Using AST Technologies." This project resulted in the development of a website for the Career Center of KSUSTA named after N. Isanov, which will also be introduced at the department.
    6. Abdirazakov E.S., senior student of group PIN-2-18, developed a website for the periodical publication "Modern Problems of Mechanics," which is scheduled for production.
    7. Students Bektemirova U., Rakhimov Adis, and Zakirova Sezim participated in the Interuniversity Scientific Student Conference organized by ISITO with a report on the topic "Current Problems of Science: The View of Young People." Their contributions were recognized with certificates.
    8. The KSUСTA team achieved 1st place in the XIII International Art Competition "Summer Fest" held in Turkey. A student of group PI-1-20, Misanov Azhar, was awarded a 1st-degree diploma for performing the Kyrgyz dance "Zhalyn Biy" and the Turkmen dance "Tush Depti" on July 5, 2022.

    In the online competition "Hello, We Are Looking for Talents 2020," the Department of Applied Informatics secured 1st place. The festival competition featured the following nominations:
