Republican contest “Startup Kyrgyzstan” from Kyrgyzpatent


In August 2020, the State Service for Intellectual Property and Innovation under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kyrgyzpatent, launched the republican competition “Startup Kyrgyzstan”. In total, 320 applications from all over Kyrgyzstan were received for the competition. According to the results of the I-stage, three projects on behalf of the department "Logistics" were selected by the competition committee for the acceleration program.

Students of the Department of Logistics Azhakhunov Muzaffar and Zilakhunov Konstantin, led by Kydykov Azizbek Asanbekovich, assistant professor of the Department of Logistics, presented the project “WindPower - Portable Wind Generator”, the purpose of which is to provide electricity to remote and inaccessible areas of Kyrgyzstan; Uzenov Atay, Bagyshbaev Temirlan and Dautova Nigora, led by Myrzalieva Madina Almasbekovna, senior teacher of the department "Logistics", came up with the project "Taptyk" to create tactile-sound cards for people with disabilities for the visually impaired and low-mobility groups, as navigation and training devices; Mukanov Tynchtyk Askerovich, senior lecturer of the department "Logistics" presented a project to create mobile irrigation systems for canals and rivers.

The acceleration program involves intensive development through mentoring, training and expert support from experienced mentors in the format of regular training courses until April 10, 2020. Participation in the accelerator will allow novice start-ups to gain practical knowledge and experience with the support of experts and mentors and to develop their startup project.

In February 2020, the second stage of the republican competition “Startup Kyrgyzstan” was launched and the first trainings were held as part of the acceleration program.

The final stage of the competition is scheduled to be held on April 21, 2020 on World Innovation Day, where trained startups will defend their startup projects before a competent and independent jury. The jury will include representatives of business, donor organizations, successful startups, technical experts and invited partners from countries near and far abroad (Georgia, Estonia, Russia, etc.). Up to 500,000 soms will be allocated for the implementation of one startup, which will go through all stages of selection.
