Directions and preparation

The RES department trains highly qualified specialists in the field of using various types of renewable energy sources (small and traditional hydropower, solar and wind energy, plants using low potential heat) and energy complexes based on them.

RES - these are modern, environmentally friendly technologies.

Specialists graduated from the RES department are one of the most popular and promising in the labor market.

The RES department conducts two-stage training of specialists (bachelor - 4 years, master of engineering and technology - 2 years) in the direction 640200 "Power and Electrical Engineering" in three areas:

  • Hydroelectric power;
  • Alternative energy sources;
  • Management in the electric power industry.

In addition to training in special disciplines, students receive thorough knowledge in fundamental sciences: physics, mathematics, programming, theoretical foundations of electrical engineering, mechanics, design, as well as in electrical machines, electrical materials, hydropower plants, renewable energy sources, production economics, and management in the electric power industry and etc.

Graduates of the profile "Hydroelectric Power" are in demand: in design organizations and research institutes of the energy profile, construction, installation and commissioning organizations of the energy and hydraulic profile, including automation of hydropower plants and the operation of electrical networks, as well as departments and laboratories of energy and construction universities in the disciplines of hydraulic and hydropower profile.

Upon completion of their studies, graduates of the "Alternative Energy Sources" profile will have the knowledge to calculate, design and operate solar installations, wind power devices, biogas plants, etc. Today, such specialties are in demand in almost any field of human activity, where there is a need for receiving, converting and transferring energy to consumers (power engineering, electric power industry, architecture, construction, agriculture, medicine, etc.).

The rapid growth, development and modernization of electric power enterprises led to the emergence of specialists in a new format - energy managers - specialists in the optimal management of the energy sector of the enterprise, owning special engineering knowledge in the field of electric power, technology for organizing and managing production in the power sector.
The area of work of graduates in the "Management in the electric power industry" field is all types of energy enterprises from the producer to the consumer of electric and thermal energy, regional energy conservation centers, research and production companies involved in energy audit, development and implementation of energy-saving equipment, energy supervision bodies and energy distribution enterprises. They will be able to carry out work on the management of power plants, networks and energy systems, as well as work in various joint-stock energy structures where specialists with knowledge of modern methods of personnel management, securities movement systems, tariff setting, regulation, energy saving, project management, as well as commercial dispatchers in the power system.

The laboratory of the RES department is equipped with the latest stands for studying solar and wind energy, the department has a modern computer class.

After graduation, graduates have the opportunity to continue their studies in graduate school, and then in doctoral studies.

Undergraduate and graduate students of the Department of RES regularly make presentations at university and international conferences, congresses and seminars. Many of them were awarded with high awards: cash prizes, honorary diplomas.

Many graduates of the department work in such well-known organizations as:

"Chakan Hydroelectric Power Station" OJSC;
OJSC "Electric Stations";
OJSC "National Electric Networks of Kyrgyzstan";
OJSC "Severelectro";
"Jalalabadelectro" OJSC;
"Oshelectro" OJSC;
OJSC "Vostokelectro";
LLC "Electrosila".
The graduates of the RES department are distinguished by a broad outlook, mastery of modern computing facilities, advanced training in mathematics, ecology and economics. All this allows them to be one of the most competitive in the labor market.

The department helps graduates to find a prestigious and interesting job with a modern level of wages.
