The Department of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) was established in 2001.

From 2001-2003, the first head of the RES department was Candidate of technical sciences, Professor Rakhimov Kalyi Rakhimovich.

Rakhimov Kalyi Rakhimovich, born in 1938, in 1961 graduated from the FPI with a degree in Electrical Stations. He has been working at FPI-KSTU since 1963. From 2001-2003. - Head of the Department of RES. Honored Power Engineer of the Kyrgyz SSR (1980), awarded the medal “For Labor Valor” (1970) and the medal “Dunk” (1999), academician of the Academy of Engineering of the Kyrgyz Republic, author of more than 130 scientific papers, including 18 monographs, 3 copyright certificates.

From December 2003 to 2014 The head of the RES department was Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Obozov Alaybek Dzhumabekovich.

Obozov Alaybek Dzhumabekovich Doctor of Technical Sciences (2003), professor, member of the International Eco-Energy Academy, Baku (1985), Academician of the Engineering Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic (2005). During his scientific career published more than 270 scientific papers. Including 5 monographs, 1 textbook and 3 study guides. Received 19 patents and copyright certificates. Prepared 2 doctors and 8 candidates of technical sciences. Awards: Certificate of honor of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic; Certificate of Honor of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, “Excellence in Education” of the Kyrgyz Republic, awarded the Kaarman Medal - Excellence in Energy and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Since July 2014, the head of the RES department has been Candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Zhabudaev Turukmen Zhusupbekovich.

Zhabudaev Turukmen Zhusupbekovich graduated from the Kyrgyz Technical University in 1995 with a degree in Hydroelectric Power Station, receiving the qualification of Electrical Engineer. Since 1995, he has been working at KTU as a teacher at the Department of Electric Power Engineering, since 1999 - a senior teacher at the Department of Power Engineering, since 2001 a senior teacher at the Department of Renewable Energy Sources, and since 2010 as an assistant professor at the same department. Over 32 scientific and methodological works were published, of which 1 study guide with the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and 2 courses of lectures, 1 copyright certificate was received. “Excellence in Education” of the Kyrgyz Republic, awarded the Kaarman Medal - Excellence in Energy and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Rudakov Ivan Konstantinovich

One of the most experienced teachers and hydropower specialists of the Kyrgyz Republic, Candidate of Technical Sciences, associate professor Ivan Konstantinovich Rudakov made a great contribution to the development and formation of the department. In 1949 he graduated from the Tokmok College of Mechanization and Electrification. In 1954 he graduated from the hydropower faculty of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Hydroelectric Engineering. Published more than 30 scientific papers, received 2 copyright certificates. He worked at KSTU 1997-2003. The specialist in hydraulic structures is the author of the project and the creator of several laboratory installations and stands that are installed at the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University. K.I. Scriabin, Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. B.N. Yeltsin. According to the project of Rudakova I.K. also created a laboratory complex for hydraulic structures of hydropower plants at the Department of renewable energy in KSTU named after I. Razzakova.

The department trained more than 1000 engineers and masters and six candidates of technical sciences.

Preparation of bachelors is carried out in the direction of 640200 Power and electrical engineering in three profiles:

  • Hydroelectric power;
  • Management in the electric power industry;
  • Alternative energy sources.

Form of study: full-time and distance.

Masters training is carried out in the direction of 640200 Power and electrical engineering in two educational programs:

  • Hydroelectric power;
  • Alternative energy sources.

According to the specialization "Hydroelectric Power", the department has been preparing since 1990. In the specialization "Management in the electric power industry", the department began training in 1999, and in the specialization "Alternative Energy Sources" in 2007.

In the direction 640200 Electricity and electrical engineering, the Alternative Energy Sources profile has been undergoing training in the Kyrgyz-German Technical Institute since 2013 with the Hydroelectricity profile since 2015, and training has been underway at the Institute of Joint Educational Programs at KSTU since 2014. .

Graduates of the department successfully work at thermal and hydraulic stations, at enterprises of electric networks, in the power supply system of industrial enterprises, cities and agriculture, at universities, design and scientific institutes, and at important government posts.
