A student of KSTU has become the champion of Kyrgyzstan in chess.

From February 13 to 23, 2025, the Kyrgyz Republic Chess Championship for men and women was held at the I. Razzakov Kyrgyz State Technical University. The tournament featured 92 chess players, including the country's strongest competitors.

The winner of the men's tournament was a first-year student of group ISTg(b)-2-24 of the K. Kurmanaliev "Polygraphy" Department, Kyrgyz-German Technical Institute, KSTU – International Master Eldiyar Orozbaiev. He scored 9 out of 11 points and, in a tense tie-breaker, defeated four-time champion of Kyrgyzstan Asylbek Abdyzhapar. This triumph not only earned him the title of Champion of Kyrgyzstan but also became a significant achievement for the KSTU university community.

Eldiyar Orozbaiev also became the winner in the under-20 junior category, confirming his high level of mastery.

We are proud of our student's success and congratulate Eldiyar Orozbaiev on his brilliant victory. We wish him further achievements on the international chess stage.

The Enactus team of KSTU has entered the top 8 among 20 universities in Kyrgyzstan and received a $1,000 grant!

Among the participating students is our student Ines Bakirova from group ISTg-1-23 of the K. Kurmanaliev "Polygraphy" Department, Kyrgyz-German Technical Institute.

The entire department congratulates Ines and wishes her further prosperity.

On November 13–14, 2024, the Eco Hackathon, organized by Enactus Kyrgyzstan and UNICEF as part of the "Girls in Science" program, took place. Approximately 20 universities in Kyrgyzstan participated in this large-scale event. Students, together with schoolgirl mentees, developed innovative environmental solutions to address air pollution, climate change, and waste recycling.

We are proud to announce that the Enactus KSTU team ranked among the top 8 participants and received a $1,000 grant to implement the "Eco Pakhta" project!

"Eco Pakhta" is a unique project aimed at recycling cotton waste to create environmentally friendly products. Our team has proven that the ideas of KSTU students can change the world!

This success continues the achievements of our team. Let us recall that in the summer of 2024, Enactus KSTU participated in the international Hult Prize competition in Lisbon, Portugal. Among over 10,000 teams from 120 countries, our project was ranked among the top 360!

We are proud of our team and are confident that the "Eco Pakhta" project will make a significant contribution to solving environmental problems. Forward, Enactus KSTU!

A KSTU student, Eldiyar Orozbaiev, has successfully performed at international-level chess competitions.

Eldiyar Orozbaiev, a first-year student of group ISTg(b)-2-24 of the K. Kurmanaliev "Polygraphy" Department, Kyrgyz-German Technical Institute, I. Razzakov KSTU, demonstrated brilliant results at the World Chess Olympiad, held from September 10 to 27, 2024 in Budapest, Hungary.

As part of the Kyrgyzstan Olympic team, Eldiyar fulfilled the third and final norm for the International Master of Chess (IM) title, and in the near future, the International Chess Federation (FIDE) will officially award him this title.

However, the ambitions of the young chess player do not end there. His next goal is the title of International Grandmaster, the highest award in the chess world, which no chess player from Kyrgyzstan has yet achieved. Eldiyar, as one of the leading candidates, has already taken the first step towards this summit.

From October 5 to 12, 2024, an international chess tournament was held in Moscow, which brought together 46 chess players from 12 countries, including 12 grandmasters, 7 international masters, and 16 FIDE masters. Orozbaiev confidently started from the first rounds and finished the tournament in first place, fulfilling the first norm of the International Grandmaster and becoming the tournament champion.

To achieve the grandmaster title, Eldiyar needs to fulfill two more grandmaster norms. Let us wish him success in his future international competitions and a swift achievement of his goal, as his successes not only bring glory to Kyrgyzstan but also strengthen the prestige of KSTU on the world stage!
