ERASMUS+ CBHE PROJECT: 617695-EPP-1-2020-1- ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP “Development of interdisciplinary postgraduate education programs and strengthening of research networks in the field of geoinformation technologies in Armenia and Kyrgyzstan” (GeoTAK), 2021-2024.

Project objectives:

The main objectives of the project are to develop postgraduate higher education programs in the field of geoinformation technologies (GIT) and to strengthen ties in the field of research and innovation between higher education institutions, industry and administrations in Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.

 

DEvision

 

DEvision Project - Digital connection of real and virtual environments 2022-2025.

Project objective: Strengthening institutional capacities in the field of higher education, as well as academic research and management in Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.

The project is funded by OeAD - Austria's Agency for Education and Internationalization (Austria's Agency for Education and Internationalization) within the framework of the APPEAR program - the Austrian Partnership Program in Higher Education and Research for Development (AustrianPartnership Program in Higher Education and Research for Development).

INVITATION TO COOPERATION

The Department of Geodesy and Geoinformatics invites all interested parties to cooperate. The teaching staff of the department has a high pedagogical and scientific potential, most of the scientists of the department have received their education or improved their qualifications at leading universities in Europe and Asia, have foreign master's and doctoral degrees, speak English and work experience in international projects.


Currently, the Austrian-Central Asian Center for Geoinformation Sciences and the Kyrgyz Center for Geoinformation Systems operate on the basis of the department. The functioning of such centers increases the research potential of the department and allows for successful cooperation with foreign partners. A number of international educational and research projects are being implemented with partners from Austria, Germany, Hungary, Spain, the USA, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, Armenia, Slovenia, etc.

The department has implemented and is implementing several international projects to improve higher education in the field of geodesy and geoinformatics.

Erasmus Plus project "Higher Education Mobility between Program and Partner Countries", International Credit Mobility 03 KA 107 Mobility, 2016 – present.
Erasmus Mundus project "GSmart-Spatial information and communication technology infrastructures for smart places", implemented in 2013-2017
TEMPUS project "Geoinformatics: Energy, Resources and Environment Management", implemented in 2010-2013
. TEMPUS project JEP-25129-2004 "Education in Geodesy and Geoinformatics", implemented in 2005-2007
. International project "Creation of the Austrian-Central Asian Center for Geoinformation Sciences" at KGUSTA with financial support of the Eurasian-Pacific Network of Universities (UNINET). The project started in 2008 and it continues with the support of UNINET.

The Department of Geodesy and Geoinformatics has participated and is actively involved in joint projects:

Scientific research project "Monitoring of agricultural crops based on vegetation indices using unmanned aerial vehicles and remote sensing data of the Earth" (MOiN KR), 2019-2022;
International project "Livestock breeders of Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia in the fight against natural hazards: a new research approach based on GPS registration" (Volkswagen Stiftung), 2015-2018;
The project "Creation of a geodetic network in Bishkek by satellite geodesy methods", NIISS KGUSTA, 2015-2017;
"Natural risk management on the transport infrastructure of the Kyrgyz Republic with a focus on avalanche-proof forests" (Austrian Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Forest, Environment and Water (BFW)), 2015-2017.;
