Department "Technology of light industry products"
On September 7, 1989, the department "Technology and design of garments" was formed to train technologists and designers for the country's light industry. In the opening and formation of the department, the great merit of the Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Imankulova A.S. Laureate of the State Prize in the field of science and technology, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.
In 1990, new specialties "Technology of knitwear production", "Technology of designing leather products", "Technology of leather and fur" were opened at the department.
In 1991 specialties "Technology and design of leather products" and "Technology of products from fur" separated into an independent department under the guidance of Ph.D., associate professor Supatayeva A.A. In the following year, the specialties "Technology and design of leather products" and "Technology and design of garments" were again merged into the current department "Technology of light industry products" (TILP). The head of the department was appointed Imankulova A.S.
In 1995, at the department, the specialty "Artistic Design of Products" was opened, which trained fashion designers.
The primary task of the department was to raise the light industry to a qualitatively new level in the conditions of market relations on the basis of advanced technologies, to contribute to the training of highly qualified technologists and designers for the textile and clothing industry of the country.
This was achieved largely thanks to the graduates of this department: technologists, designers and fashion designer, through whose labors and efforts the light industry of Kyrgyzstan entered the international market, having managed to stand on a par with the products of well-known brands from near and far abroad.
Since 2016, the department has been headed by Ph.D., Professor Rysbayeva I.A. The team is formed by highly qualified personnel: graduates of universities in Moscow, St. I. Razzakov and has significant potential.
In the line of modernization of the educational process, including the development of new educational forms, programs and standards, the development of international cooperation in the system of continuous education, on the basis of KSTI, students were recruited in the direction of "Technology of textiles and leather" in cooperation with the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences, Germany.
Today, the department unites 9 educational laboratories and a training and production workshop, performs research work on topical issues of light industry, has a postgraduate course for the preparation of teaching staff. Currently, a lot of work is being done in the field of improving the educational technologies of the TILP department, as well as expanding and improving the material and technical base of the department, and a Training Center for the garment industry of the Kyrgyz Republic has been created.
Under the grant of the Government of Switzerland and KSTU. I. Razzakova created (2019-20) the only high-tech training center in the country for the light industry "Industry Personnel", in which students and industry specialists master computer programs for designing clothes and are trained in "high-speed seamstress" programs.
