Research work at the department is conducted in 2 directions: "Application of information technologies and mathematical modeling methods in the sectors of the national economy" and "Problems and prospects of information security in the Kyrgyz Republic". Since 2003, the staff of the department has completed 4 scientific projects on the cathedral scientific topics, funded from the state budget in the amount of 3 million 400 thousand soms and, by agreement with state enterprises, 6 software complexes have been developed and implemented, and they have received author's certificates of state registration of computer programs: - Development and implementation of software for automated systems for administrative offenses of the Internal Affairs Department of the Bishkek city Police Department and the GUBDD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic on-Line (2009); - Development and implementation of software complexes of automated systems for the technical inspection of motor vehicles of the GUBDD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the receipt of taxes on movable property through branches of the State Enterprise "Kyrgyz Pochtasy" on-Line (2010); - Development and implementation of an automated system for the payment of pensions, allowances and compensations through the branches of the State Enterprise "Kyrgyz Pochtasy" on-Line (2012). According to the results of scientific research, 4 PhD theses were defended (Kurmanalieva R.N., Kukanova R.A., Manapbayev I.K., Tynyshova T.D.) and more than 120 scientific articles were published, 4 monographs were published (Muraliev A.M., Manapbayev I.K., Kurmanalieva R.N., Kukanova R.A.).
