Department history


In 1979 the department received the right to train engineers in the specialty "computers, complexes, systems and networks". This event is considered to be the date of creation of the Computer Department. In 1980, as a result of reorganization, the Computer Department was allocated. The Department of Computers at FPI was one of the first in the Central Asian region to train system engineers in the specialty "Computers, Complexes, Systems and Networks".

The founder and first head of the department (1977 to 1985) is the first president of the Kyrgyz Republic A.A. Akayev. - academician, professor, doctor of technical sciences

A great contribution to the formation of the department was made by: Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Head. Mayorov S.A., Department of Competence, Leningrad Institute of Precision Mechanics and Optics; Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Precision Mechanics and Computer Science, LITMO G. Novikov; Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Computer Department of the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute Professor G.N. Soloviev, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member Academy of Sciences of the USSR, head of the laboratory of the Physics and Technology Institute named after Ioffe professor Denisyuk Yu.N.

During the existence of the department, more than 3000 specialists have been trained. The department trained students from non-CIS countries: India, Algeria, Colombia, Somalia, Morocco, Sri Lanka, Angola, Cuba, etc.

The Department of ICT has accumulated its activities in the direction of training engineering and scientific-pedagogical personnel in the field of information technology for Kyrgyzstan

Significant events in the life of the Department of IT:

1977 - Department of Organization of ASU and Computer Science and Computer Engineering;

1978 - Organization of the research laboratory "Optoelectronics";

1979 - All-Union meeting - workshop on optical methods of storage and processing of information;

1979 - The first set of students on the specialty of computer;

1978 - 1979 - Conquered I - place according to the results of social. competitions among technical departments of FPI;

1980 - The IBM department is organized;

1980 - All-Union meeting of the Scientific Council of the USSR Academy of Sciences on the problem of "Holography";

1981 - The first all-Union conference on radio optics with the participation of foreign specialists;

1993-1984 - All-Union competition of student papers in technical cybernetics and computer technology;

1987 - Setting up a branch at an IBM plant;

1987- 1990 - Conducting annual All-Union Olympiads in the IBM specialty;

1988 - Organization of targeted intensive training of students in conjunction with the computer plant;

1992 - The first recruitment for a multilevel system of training specialists;

1993 - Computer department was renamed into Computer Science and Computer Engineering;

1996 - First Bachelor of Engineering Graduation;

1997 - The first graduation of engineers on a multilevel training system;

1997-1998  Participation in the world programming championship;

2016 - The first enrollment of students for the specialty -590001- "Information Security" ;

2018 - The first graduation of masters of engineering and technology in the direction 710100- "Computer Science and Computer Engineering".
