The Department of "Computer Linguistics" traces its origins to the Department of "Computer and Language Technologies," which was established in 2001 and successfully began training students in the field of "Linguistics and New Information Technologies" (LNIT). Subsequently, the department was named "Linguistics and New Information Technologies" (CLaMC), which was created to implement new information technologies and foreign languages in the educational process. In 2007, a new Department of "Computer Linguistics" was opened at INIT KSUCTA, which began training specialists in this field.
Since the department's foundation, significant contributions to the organization and establishment of the CLaMC Department and Computer Linguistics direction were made by the first head of the department, now director of INIT, Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor Marat Turdalievich Zhaparov, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Professor Zhenishbek Kadyralievich Sydykov, Head of CLaMC Department Ph.D. in Philology, Associate Professor G.E. Zhumalieva, Ph.D. in Philology, Associate Professor Sonunbubu Zhenishbekovna Karabaeva.
