Professor at N. P. Ogarev Mordovia State University
Oleg Viktorovich Shishov (born July 15, 1962, Saransk) is an electronic engineer. He graduated from Ogarev Mordovia State University in 1984. He received the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in 1988 and was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor (VAK) in 1995.
He worked as Associate Professor at the Department of Automation of Ogarev Mordovia State University from 1994 to 2007, and since 2007 has been Associate Professor at the Department of Electronics and Nanoelectronics of the National Research Ogarev Mordovia State University.
In the academic years 2024/25 and 2025/26, he worked as a Professor of the Department of Telematics at the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov (part-time).

Educational and Methodological Work
Shishov O. V. is the Chairman of the Educational and Methodological Commission of the Institute of Electronics and Lighting Engineering.
He has developed and continuously updates curricula for all the courses he teaches.
In 2021, his textbook “Modern Industrial Automation Systems” won first place in the university publication competition. In 2022, his Educational and Methodological Complex with Video Course “Network Technologies in Industrial Automation Systems” also won first place.
He has produced three massive open online video courses (2020, 2021, 2023), used both in university teaching and in professional development programs.
In 2020, he was awarded “Associate Professor of the Year” in the engineering category.
He is a five-time winner of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation grants for master’s program instructors (2019, 2020, 2021, 2023, 2025).
In 2021, he won first place in the university competition “Innovations in Higher Education Teaching”.
Research Activities
Shishov O. V. has published over 200 works, more than 50 of them being textbooks and teaching materials, including Ministry-approved textbooks. His citation count in eLibrary.ru is 521, and his h-index is 7.
In the last five years, he has published 35 works, including 3 textbooks and 6 articles in journals from the VAK list.
He heads the student research laboratory “Modern Technologies of Industrial Automation”, whose students have repeatedly won medals and diplomas.
For the last ten years, he has chaired the section “Automation in Control” of the International Network Scientific and Practical Conference “Integration Processes in Scientific, Technical and Educational Space”.
Organizational Activities
He is the founder and head of the Volga Regional Training Center of OVEN, Russia’s largest industrial automation company. Over 200 specialists have been trained there in the last five years.
He also leads the university team in industrial controller programming and robotics and has headed the “Robotics” category of the Volga Federal District Intellectual Olympiad since 2017.
He is the coordinator of the Russian–Kyrgyz Technical Universities Consortium and virtual academic mobility programs between KSTU and Ogarev Mordovia State University.
He is a member of the Academic Council of the Institute of Electronics and Lighting Engineering.
