Scientific and research work

RESEARCH

The faculty members of the Department develop research topics, including one project funded by a grant from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and two state-funded research topics conducted without external financing.

The grant-funded project supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic is entitled:
“Investigation of the Influence of Physical Fields on the Energy Intensity of Rock Fracture.”
Project Supervisor: Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor R.M. Sultanaliyeva.
Research team members: Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor A.T. Konushbaeva; Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor T.K. Azimbaev; Lecturer Ch.B. Turdubaeva.

The Department also conducts research without external funding in the following area:
Topic: “New Technologies in Teaching Physics in Higher Education.”
Project Supervisor: Professor R.M. Sultanaliyeva.
Participants: B.B. Baibolotova, B.B. Murzaibraimova, N.S. Kermenbaeva, K.N. Berdibekova, Ch.T. Emileva.

The academic staff of the Department are actively engaged in student research activities (SRW), aiming to involve bachelor’s students in research work at an early stage. Students participate in scientific and engineering project competitions. Faculty consultations help students develop scientific thinking and research skills.

Students also take part in the annual Scientific and Technical Conference of Young Scientists, PhD candidates, Master’s students, and undergraduates organized by the university. Since first-year students are among the participants, some presentations are of a review nature; however, most projects are applied and research-oriented, presented in the form of prototypes, models, and technical designs. The best reports are recommended for publication in the scientific journal Izvestiya KSTU named after I. Razzakov.

Activities of the Department of Physics within the School–University Partnership Program

The Department of Physics actively develops partnerships with schools in Bishkek and Talas, as well as in the Talas region, including:School No. 61 (AFMSL);Educational Complex No. 9;Gazprom School;“Manas” Lyceum Boarding School in Talas.

Since 2022, the Department has cooperated with 13 schools across 8 regions of the Kyrgyz Republic. The main areas of cooperation include:Joint research activities;Professional development of regional school teachers at the Department: attending lectures in various areas of physics, completing laboratory training, acquiring computer skills, learning test development and presentation design, etc.;Conducting master classes and scientific seminars in schools to enhance students’ interest in physics and support career guidance;Involving school students in research projects under the supervision of faculty members.

  1. Under the supervision of Associate Professor A.T. Konushbaeva (Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences), students of School No. 61 — S.A. Zhalalova, K.I. Kaulkina, E.B. Abdrakhmanova, and L.K. Bagiryan — participated in the competition “We Are the Intellectuals of the 21st Century” and won 1st place in Bishkek. Project title: “Plastic Recycling.”
  2. Professor R.M. Sultanaliyeva and Associate Professor A.T. Konushbaeva, together with Bektur Barataly uulu, a student of UWIS International School (Bishkek), published a joint scientific article in the scientific and technical journal of the Institute of Mechanics, Mathematics and Geophysics of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
