Студенческий актив и жизнь в общежитии

The student actives of the department “Metrology and Standardization” are the group leaders who help organize student life, solve everyday issues and coordinate events. The group leaders are the connecting link between students, teachers and the dean's office.

Some of our students live in the KSTU dormitory. Here they not only live, but also spend time together: communicate, cook, study, celebrate holidays. The dormitory is a second home where lifelong friendship is born.

The Department of Metrology and Standardization cares not only about the high-quality professional training of students, but also about the harmonious development of their personalities.

Responsibility for extracurricular life is entrusted to the teachers and curators of the department. By involving students in cultural, sporting, patriotic, and social events, we strive to enrich the moral and cultural development of our students, developing not only their professional competencies in the field of metrology and quality, but also their creative, organizational, leadership, and social skills.

Our goal is to ensure that our graduates are not just highly qualified specialists, but well-rounded individuals with broad horizons, strong character, and unlocked inner potential.

The department is particularly proud to award our best students with certificates from the Jogorku Kenesh, as well as presidential scholarships for outstanding academic achievements and active social activities!

Initiation into student life

This has become a traditional celebration at KSTU, when each institute presents its first-year students, who proudly defend the name of their institute's young generation, which will become their home for the next four years and beyond.

Healthy competition and a creative atmosphere lay a solid foundation for friendship, team spirit, and social interaction—not only within a single institute or course, but also between all faculties of the university.

The Department of Metrology and Standardization is proud of its students' achievements: the Institute of Transport and Robotics (ITR) won the Grand Prix for two years in a row in 2021–2022, and this year it took a well-deserved third place in the competition!

Cultural events

Students from our department are super into extracurricular stuff at the university and around town. They regularly take part in cool cultural, patriotic, and international events that help them broaden their horizons, develop leadership skills, and build friendships.

The students meet with diplomatic representatives from different countries, take part in campaigns and events on drug prevention and healthy lifestyles, and visit museums, exhibitions, and historical sites in Bishkek.

Such events help students not only to better understand the world around them, but also to develop civic engagement, team spirit, and responsibility. We are proud of our students' active participation and believe that it is precisely these traditions that make them true professionals and well-rounded individuals!

Social activity

The teachers, administration, and students of the Department of Metrology and Standardization are people with big hearts and a strong sense of justice, always ready to help those in need.

Together with other university departments, we regularly organize trips to orphanages and nursing homes. These trips are not only a form of material support, but also an opportunity to give sincere emotions, joy, attention, and a real celebration to those who need it most.

Community work days

The students in our department sincerely believe that cleanliness is not only an inner state of mind, but also a concern for the outside world.

That is why our students regularly participate in community clean-up days and clean up the area around the university and dormitories. This is a conscious contribution to the beauty and order of their alma mater, a sign of respect for their shared home, and a desire to make the surrounding space better for everyone.

Such good traditions strengthen team spirit, foster responsibility, and show that the true professionals of the future care not only about the quality of their work, but also about the quality of life around them.

Academic mobility and excursions

Students from our department regularly go on field trips and internships to see how real companies and organizations operate.

They visit:

  • leading metrology centers and laboratories

  • manufacturing plants and factories

  • certification and accreditation bodies

  • customs posts and services (including trips to Kazakhstan to study customs clearance and the application of EAEU technical regulations).

Such trips help to reinforce theory in practice and understand the processes of metrology, standardization, quality control, and technical regulation in real-world conditions. This is an excellent way to prepare students for their future work!
